ACS Staying?

What is the deal with rumors around ACS transferring? Anyone?

It's been mentioned on GWG a few times. I'd ask WtF over there, but I'm too darned cheap to pay for it.

Any of those prognosticators have an idea of where and why? A little hard to believe but, one never knows.

That would give him one year of eligibility at a D-1 school. This would seem not to
be a good idea if you are thinking of the NFL.

He wouldn't lose a year of eligibility if he transferred, but he'd have to sit out a year. I think it'd be a pretty big mistake.. he still has lots of learnin' to do.. and learning under the guy who sent Brad Smith and Chase Daniels to the NFL would be a good thing.

No, he has a redshirt available, so he would have 2 years. I look at it from this perspective...he is pretty much a guarantee to start next year at QB at WYO and if he transfers somewhere else there are ZERO guarantees. He is a known entity, by transferring and sitting he becomes unknown and forgotten. He is a smart kid, so I think he realizes that fact.

Lets be honest, while he may seem to act immature sometimes on the sideline (debateable), throughout the season he has showed he has more fire than anyone else on the team...and that is exactly what I want in a QB and team leader. With him at the helm next year, the easier schedule and the potential we saw displayed against CSU, this team could do some very good things.

I'm pretty sure that if you transfer between FBS schools you have to sit out a year and don't lose eligibility. If you transfer down, you can play right away.

Who came up with this rumor? He wouldn't have many options at this point even if he did want to transfer... No offense but not many teams will be lining up to take the QB of a 3-9 team, at least any teams that would be considered more big time than Wyoming....

I did find it odd Shamiel Gary was suited up to play but was never in the game. If he missed last game because of a death in the family why wouldn't he be allowed to come back and play?

Not sure, but he may have missed some practice time during the week because of the death. I was glad to see Luke Ruff get some playing time. He didn't get the recognition he deserved coming out of high school, but he is just as good of a football player as anyone in DC's first recruiting class. I think you guys are really going to like Luke Ruff once he takes over the FS spot next season. He really has a knack for the ball and making big plays, which he has showcased during his time on special teams.

you dont lose a year if you sit out you simply just sit out luster sat out a year in bball after his fresh year and was a soph last year

DC said that Shamiel wasn't mentally ready to go.

So why did Missoli get to play for Oregon last season and play right away at Ole Miss?

Masoli was a weird case.. as I understood it he was kicked out of Oregon, then Ole Miss picked him up.. then got a waiver from the NCAA. It was a strange case..

Because he had already graduated from Oregon, but still had a year of eligibility.

And he burned his redshirt year while doing that. He played as a true freshman at NMSU, burned his redshirt sitting out the year here and was a redshirt sophomore last year.

Had he not had a redshirt available he would have lost a year of eligibility and played as a junior last year.

If you do not have a redshirt year left you lose a year of eligibility. It's something the NCAA does to discourage players transferring.

So yes, you lose a year of eligibility if you transfer and do not have a redshirt year left.

Luke Ruff was a Joe Glenn recruit, he signed with Wyoming under Glenn he had said for years that he wanted to play for the Pokes.

That and he had to go to graduate school and choose a program that wasn't offered at Oregon.

Has anyone heard/name a source for this? I hope it is not true and I don't think ACS is that big of a pussy. I am sure he was frustrated this year, but after that game you would have to think the team feels up. Our D line played well, our recievers played well ( I am calling it now TJ Smith is the next great WR at WR U!), our running game looked great (need more depth next year, hope kankalongo and Herron get better), Tashaun, Ruff, Huff, & even Kenny Browder looked good in the secondary this game. I hope ACS stays because next year could be special ( I say this every offseason but one day I will be right & and it will be next year :D )

One question what does this icon mean? :orly:
