Aaron Young is behind Nick Smith on the depth chart?

The more surprising thing is they both tricked Bohl into letting them on a D-1 FBS roster...
To be fair I don't think Bohl knows what a D1 player looks like.

On another note, even left-handed, I think Aaron Young can throw a better ball than Nick Smith. This is embarrassing for him...my Lord.

Young is indeed a better pocket passer. That is his one strength......and if you know me that was hard to say.

What is it, 4 times today he's had an open receiver with no defender in sight and no more than 6-8 yards away, and he makes throws that our next 15 foot receiver will bring down with ease. Then on the last series on what was supposed to be a screen pass I guess, he nearly threw the ball right into the defensive lineman's arms. Unreal.

So we now give out scholarships to QBs that can't throw. Its down right embarrassing.
Not only that, but these guys get a scholarship before someone who can make a field goal or kick it through the end zone

No shit I wonder if the waterboy can play.

It's clear that bohls first recruiting class had a lot of misses, including both QBs. If nick could complete a pass, there's a chance we make this a game

I don't understand why they wouldn't put young in when they were at the 30 and see if he could complete a pass. They should have known smith wasn't going to complete one. He's done some good runs but we could have pulled within 10 points.

Down 16, 1st down 10 deep in their territory, Vigen overthinks it. Calls a pass on 1st - yes a safe pass that a QB should be able to make, but you've been able to make 1st downs with no passing for 3 straight drives. And it was unfortunately clear that Smith had psyched himself out of his passing game. And that was ball game.

Smith had a case of stage fright out there - I'm sure he's made those passes in high school. Feel bad for the kid.

Not sure why he had stage fright. By the time he was in those passing situations, he was playing in front of a high school crowd lol

Stage fright??????? What stage, LOL Would that be Cowboy tough or the Bohls "Wyoming profile." I'm actually lost for words. It was horrendous. I see way better JC Qbs, high school, middle school, grade school and pop warner QB play.

I don't know what else to call it -stage fright, anxiety, panic? Missing short throws he probably makes every day in a practice environment. I also agree that expectations are much higher with D1 scholarships. At the end of the day he is a 19 year old. I hope he pulls his game together.
