AA Reseating Link

Helped pick seats already (a really nice priority) and it was a tough decision! The seating software is awesome and I heard that it may be licensed to use at War Memorial in the future as well.

If the students don't pack the student section, I will be severely disappointed. I can't wait to see how tough the student section becomes for the visitor's bench! Also, I will be interested to see if both rows of the courtside seats sell out; I really hope they do!

The interactive website to look at the seating is great - I have no problem with that. The seats themselves look great also. My problem is with the design of the seating arrangement in the "new AA. IMO it sucks big time - the way it was before was much better.

This is the current seating Map. It is filling up fast. the way it looks is that I will be donating more for worse seats than I previously had. that doesn't make me happy.

That makes two of us. Not a happy camper. I had seats my parents got when the building opened, which I have been owner of for many years, already donating what most people consider a pretty good amount already to CJC. And now I'm moved up 3 rows and kicked out to the side. This after going to games with a lot of empty seats below us.

Our season tickets in the AA started in 1983 or 84. My dad always had the seats in his name, and when he retired we switched them to my name; and as far as Wyoming is concerned we don't get anything for longevity because of that. we've only ever missed a few home games since the mid 1980s. I still have to wait a week until I get to pick seats.

That is complete bullshit. Especially if you happened to finance any / part / most / all of the tickets at some point - even if they were still in your Dad's name.

Situations like yours is blaringly obvious proof that they did it wrong...they didn't think it through. And I am a proponent for reseating for the most part, and especially when it comes to revenue sports. UW's first action should have been to sell the same (or similar) seats to the regular season ticket holders that wanted to keep them - as long as they donated the amount required to keep them. Then, they should have opened them up. Instead, they played favorites...and stayed consistent with their motto..."what have you done for me lately", and they jacked a lot of folks that have been loyal fans in the AA since 1982.

I agree with this.

So, McPeachy, are you trying to say that allowing up to eight seats as an option when it's a person's turn to choose during the re-seat could possibly screw over some very loyal Pokes fans when it's their turn to pick?!!

I agree wholeheartedly with this comment:

"UW's first action should have been to sell the same (or similar) seats to the regular season ticket holders that wanted to keep them - as long as they donated the amount required to keep them. Then, they should have opened them up."

I know some very loyal fans who are frustrated and p!ssed as they await their turn to pick.

Selling out to the highest bidder instead of rewarding loyalty is a good way to alienate a fanbase. CJC and UW screwed this one up royally. Say I've had 3rd row half court seats since 1982. They should have come in and said something along the lines of,

"Hey Bryan, thank you for being a loyal Wyoming fan for 32 years. With the new renovations to the AA, we are going to require everyone to donate at the appropriate level for their seats. We notice that you have had great seats since we opened the facility, and we invite you to keep those. However, the minimum donation will be $2,500 per seat. If you would be willing to match that donation we would be happy to keep you in the same seats. However, if you can't we would have to ask you to choose new seats that match up with your donation level. If you have any questions please contact us at 307-766-XXXX."

If they had used this method it would have solved a lot of problems before they ever came up. Sure, people are going to be pissed that they have to donate at a high level to keep their seats, but at least the option would have been there.

I have a feeling this is going to get a lot worse before it gets better. A lot of people in similar situations to nirv are probably frustrated but are going to get really upset in the next week or two when they finally get online and see how different (I.E. worse) their seats are actually going to be.

Somebody in the athletics department had to have thought this was the way to go, and all the other minions got in line and agreed. Makes me absolutely sick...as in WHERE ARE YOUR BRAINS?!? Then again, it isn't surprising given the track record. This debacle ranks right up there with giving Heath Shroyer an extension and raise.

I wondered if this is what was gong on. I couldn't see how the lower seats could fill up so fast if sales were limited at this time to season ticket holders. Nobody should have been allowed to buy more than they hold now. Now I'm really mad.

Confirmed by the ticket office and Tim Collins when questioned recently.

Pretty much the same for us. We have to wait until the 17th at 8:54am. The hell is that about?

This whole re-seating thing doesn't affect me at all, but damn I feel for you guys. They just completely jacked this up. I hope you guys get the seats you want or end up with better seats.

In exploring the ticket site I also read that if there are three open seats next to each other It won't let you select two of them because that would leave a single seat. So you have to select from higher up rows - again making it harder to get a good seat.
