AA primed for major renovation [Gagliardi]

Concerts I remember at the AA:

Beach Boys (1982) - I went to that one. The sound was terrible in the arena, something like listening to the Beach Boys through a mud-soaked pillow
Flock of Seagulls (1982 or 1983)
The Tubes (1987ish) - Big money loser, IIRC

There were more. But the business dried up as the crowds weren't as good as originally projected.
Lynyrd Skynyrd came in a couple years ago. Speakers, band, and crowd was great.

Alabama, Kenny Cheney and lone star were there and it was great. Also watched PBR also fucking awesome

Saw Garth Brooks in the early 90s in the AA. Also one year they had the Barnum and Bailey Circus come in :thumb:

Saw Chris LeDoux there in 2004, I believe. The AA is a fantastic concert venue. They really need to start pushing that more, especially in a college town.

With a little creativity in marketing it could become a major stop on the country music indutry tour list-sold out to young crazy fans-a county music mecca-attract Greenies-sell out consistently. I know country is not, and will never be, the most favored genre of the college kids in Laramie-but it will be number two or three with most of them, and it will be number one with the people with $$ in Casper, Cheyenne, and the surrounding environs. Couple a concert with a game, and you may have something...
or maybe an AD with some vision and energy might have a much better idea

Nance grew up in South Carolina, went to college in Alabama-yeah, he likes country music. Cleveland has a healthy country music scene as well...

Larry Nance went to Clemson. Regardless, pretty sure lax was talking about Nance Jr.

I think Wyoming has turned Larry Nance into a country fan
I think he was a country fan before coming to Wyoming.

In regards to the AA and concerts...I've seen Heart/Y&T and Robert Plant/Faith No More there. It doesn't have to be a country band get draw a crowd...it just needs to be a decent band.

I heard he doesn't like jr. I think we should call him larry nance and his dad sr.

And saw a tweet where he said country was growing on him. That's it

That is true, I don't think he likes being called jr. very much.
