AA idea to save the suites, but it would be damn expensive

I got to thinking about how we could salvage luxury suites in the AA. It would completely save the field of view for fans, and not lower the attendance much... maybe 1000 seats, but probably more like 300-500

you have to use your brain to imagine this, but it could work.

k, here we go, will try to paint the picture

instead of putting the boxes above the floor, what about slightly below? hold on a sec... let me esplain'.

it would require a foundation remodel. big bucks. drop the floor level a couple of feet. then, on the opposite side of the floor from the team benches, put in the boxes below where the fans sit. it would raise the court side seating about 8-10 feet, have a windowed viewing box set up at floor level. the luxury suites would have low ceilings, but would put the viewers about waist-to-head level of the action, meaning the floor of the luxury suites would sit below that of the hardwood (only slightly) like a three tiered house, or bi level. the boxes could run crescent shaped to the 45 degree.

the players could enter and exit in the corner, which would put the big wigs right there.

and, it would be one of a kind... ground breaking stuff. unique.

what do you think?

you might even consider putting in hockey style glass, instead of the full window pane. that way noise can get in and out... and sometimes the basketball. have a wait/bar staff. drinks, food, basketballs flying in.... AWESOME!

talk about courtside experience. I would streak down grand ave to get those seats.

and it would blow peoples minds when seen on t.v. LIKE WHAT?

they have boxes floor level?!!!

Get outta town... dunk town

get outta dunk town.

One of the main objectives of the renovation was increased practice space. Unless I'm not picturing your vision the same way, it seems like this will take away the practice court areas

Your basic idea is good, but I would change the location and by doing that it would eliminate the need to lower the court. I would put it behind the basket (floor level - behind the concrete wall that would have to be removed) on the end opposite the student section. It would have to be on the side of the basket next to the players tunnel due to the need of pads on the walls directly behind the basket. Keep the existing seating above this area. The cheer squad and photo people would have to move to a different area though.

i said that at 1st but people jumped on me for the cost, hell we're having a hell of a time the way it is, if we build it now then we won't have to for another 30-35 years....costs never stay the same that's for sure, then really watch the prices of tickets go sky high, oh well it's sports, it's entertainment huh, LOL
