A win is a win is a win....I guess.

From afar and only by listening to the game by the way of the SUU feed all I can say is hopefully the old adage that a teams biggest improvement comes between week 1 and week 2.
ACS looks to have picked up right where he left off at the end of last season and then some. Very impressive game for him and the WR for the most part (minus the fumble by Ogbanni and the ACS red zone interception). The rest of the offense is kind of scary right now, certainly plenty of room for improvement in the run game and ACS really needs time to throw the ball and did I mention they have to open up some holes for the run game.
Hopefully SUU is going to be an FCS power because if not the offense is going to have to win a track meet in every game for the Pokes to have a chance to have a successful season. Getting gouged for nearly 200 yards on the ground and through the air is not a good start at all; usually the defense is ahead of the offense to start out the season that's certainly not the case right now.
I'm hoping that we can chalk this game up to the Pokes not wanting to show too much on film defensively, or offensively for that matter, for the upcoming games against Texas and Boise State. Either that or just a classic case of first game jitters and or the Poke playing to the levle of their competition as it seems they've from time to time in the past.
At least they found a way to win, even though it was against perhaps a lesser opponent, when they didn't play their best game. Remember the Pokes did struggle last season with Weber St. before playing their way to the New Mexico Bowl. It's still way too early to find the nearest bridge and jump off.
Here's to the Pokes getting the defense squared away and the offense continuing to improve next week against Texas!
