Will the cheap conservative bastards in Wyoming allow this to fly? Or will they continue to bathe and admire their $1.8B in the state's Chase Manhattan account that pulls in $350M in interest? AND will it be spent in the correct fashion? And what fashion is that. In my opinion with our recruiting disadvantages we should have one of if not the largest recruiting budgets.

I suggest not reading the comments attached to the article, or you may want to smash your head into a car windshield.
See and you guys say I'm the only one that wants to drop to FCS. Like eight of those comments said that same thing!

They are uninformed trolls.

The second weed becomes legal in this state (and it won't anytime soon) this ceases to be Wyoming any longer.
Based on what almighty opinion of yours?

In all honesty, aside from more tourists, Colorado legalizing weed hasn't changed it much - same people smoke now as smoked before. Oh, except a LOT fewer people now deal with drug dealers trying to peddle other stuff when they can buy stuff legally instead... and it's slightly more difficult for high school kids to get pot as some of the sellers decided to go the legal route rather than risking getting caught selling to kids.

Wyoming won't change when it legalizes either, because most other states around it will have legalized pot by the time that happens. I don't smoke. Never have, never will. That said, it'd be rather hypocritical for me to justify my drinking of beer/wine/whiskey while at the same time trying to claim that pot is terrible. Alcohol is far worse than THC both from a societal standpoint and probably health-wise as well.

Whoa, this thread went a lot of directions  Anyway, this statement is not accurate or at least known if it is accurate. Drives me nuts that a President allegedly in science's corner made a statement similar to this.

Over consumption of alcohol certainly has devastating impacts on health, families, and society. Small amounts of alcohol have health benefits.

Alcohol has been around a long time with lots of users and abusers. Thus, there is ample data regarding the impacts of light, moderate, and heavy alcohol use.

The same is not true for weed, THC, etc. Your statement might turn out to be true, but as of now, we just don't know. Some detrimental health effects are starting to surface as we look deeper into it with a larger sample size. They may turn out to be bogus or worse than we thought. Either way, the statement that weed is safer than alcohol is premature at best.

Either people aren't reading the article or have poor reading comprehension. Mead is advocating using rainy day funds to continue to match contributions to the athletic department. This isn't anything new, the state's done it for years. The comments attached to the article, and especially those on the Facebook posting of the article, sound like they think Mead's giving Burman a blank check to the rainy day account.
People need to read more than the headline.

Really? He seems like a cool dude. The Wyoming governorship has got to be one of the easiest jobs ever. All you have to do is tell the Federal gov where to shove it.

You sure do like to preach what Wyoming is and what Wyoming isn't for only living in Wyoming a couple of years.

...why does any of it matter though? The world is going to end.
