A little disappointed...

In the fact that there was some rushing the court last night. I get that kids were excited and there was a lot of emotion in the house, but I wish the crowd wouldn't do it for a couple reasons.

The first reason is it was only SDSU. Yes they WERE ranked 14 or 15th in the country but they are a conference opponent.

The biggest reason is where are our expectations? If we expect to win, why rush the court? Top programs in the nation don't rush the court when they win games against the 15th rated team... why should we? I would rather other teams rush their court if they beat us!!! That means that they upset us. I don't think that we upset SDSU last night... We have only 2 losses and I think those were upsets! We need to get our expectations in order! Expecting to win is a lot different than wanting or hopeing to win. We need to build this program so that we EXPECT to win every game and make the program a top program in the nation.

Maybe I am overreacting but when you rush the court, I think it just shows that fans really didn't expect to win and they are happy that an upset happened. Time to change the mindset! thats all.

Agree with you fully. Not every win against a ranked opponent is court storming worthy. We have a great team this year and have only lost one game that was to a lesser team this season. Why storm the court when you know your team is good enough to hang with anyone in the conference at home.

Maybe you should look in the rear view Cowboys mirror and see that for 10 years this team hasn't beat shit. The first few years that a team crawls back into relevancy their fans are going to rush the court they haven't had the opportunity before. Rushing the court against a ranked opponent conference or not is fine.

Last year we rushed it one time against UNLV, This year against CU and SDSU. I don't think there will be much more rushing left but fact of the matter is 10 years of bad vs 2 court rushes for ranked opponents I don't see the issue.

I agree with the original post but the reality is that we live in a social media age and every student section in the country rushes the court or the field now a days unless you are in the SEC because the SEC has a rule that if you rush the court or field the school will get fined. Maybe all of the other conferences should put the same rule in.

I understand that it isn't that big if deal but at the end of the day if you have a winning program and the product has been good for most of the season (with the exception being the Fresno state game wherein the team clearly wasn't focused) you don't storm the court because you are that good. If not for the Boise State last second loss we would have been the last team in the country undefeated.

If you storm the court for every win against a ranked opponent it will take away how special it is to storm the court. If we win the conference on a home game then yes storm the court but for every win against a ranked opponent... meh I don't know. I guess this is part of beginning a winning culture but fans should know how good we are now and not go all out to storm the court for every home victory against someone who is good.

If our biggest complaint this morning is that our student section was too excited about the win, then I have to say we don't have much to complain about.

The students are not used to winning yet. Give them a little time and enjoy the ride.

Being a current student here are a few things. Rushing the court is something that the students look forward to the most and is why there are such big crowds for ranked teams. The fact is we are not a winning program YET we are still building towards it. If we were a ranked team then there is no grounds for rushing the court, but we are not and we beat a top 15 team in the nation. Also students like celebrating with the team that they see at class every day and after this last week of turmoil let us celebrate a huge win. We are a bubble team for the tournament not some top 25 power so storming the court should not be such an issue with you guys.

Well given the past few years of pure crap WYo basketball, the legal mess with this team, and a huge win over a quality program from a school that really bitches about being in the same conference as Wyo...I see nothing wrong with a court rush by the students. Part of the program building process.

We all hve been waiting for a big moment for Wyo basketball and Shyatt gave us a small taste of the future years last nigh. I remember BYU curt rushes in the old days and those BYU teams were ranked lower then this SDSU team. This is not new and will keep more students coming back

Let the kids have some fun. This week was full of bad news dealing with the team. Hell, we bitch when they don't come, so lets not complain when they do.

This +billions you can't complain with everything they do you have to accept they are excited isn't it better to be over excited?

I think rushing has to be a real confidence builder for the team too at this point. How great do you think Josh felt to be hoisted in the air by his fellow students as a freshman? It's great to show the players how the students are really behind them.

Yea and I'm a little disappointed with this shitty post, what was your point again?

I understand the mind set of we should expect to win and not expect to lose and no reason to rush when we win. I think the court rushing with drop off next year. But expect to see students on the court anytime we beat a ranked team.

This bitching about students rushing the court is nonsense. I watched the Butler/Gonzaga game last night and Butler, a power team no less and ranked #13, rushed the court after beating another power team that was ranked #8. Guess what? They stormed the court and I didn't have a problem with it. When the student get the chance to celebrate a big win out on the floor with their "classmates" why do some people get all worked up about it? It's something that only happens in college, it adds to the collegiate basketball atmosphere, it's what makes the college game so much better than the NBA. I say if you have a big win why not, especially if it helps the team in future games.

Great gif in your signature.

Do the players not deserve to know they are loved by the students? are the students not allowed to have fun and run out and celebrate!?

i think there's lesser things to be upset about, afterall it creates more enthusiasm and fun for the students that aren't accustomed to winning at UW. let them be, the only other court rush should be against the Bozos if they are still ranked and esp if we beat the sheep if they are ranked!!! fun stuff brewin at the dome of doom
