Dear Mr. Burman:

Speaking on behalf of the alumni and fans of the University of Wyoming football program, although I have not been given that authority, I feel it necessary to convey our intense displeasure of the results and direction that our football program is headed.

Over Joe Glenn's tenure as head coach of the Cowboys, he has done a wonderful job of promoting and advertising the university and the State of Wyoming. His contributions to the facilities that were so desperately needed to be built were enormous, his graduation rate of his players is outstanding and his desire to build a winning program can not be questioned.

Ultimately, Mr. Glenn's failure to produce a productive and competitive product on the football field, is unacceptable. His responsibility to obtain the goals of contending for a MWC title and possible bowl game is nowhere close. The pride of the State of Wyoming and the university is in serious jepordy as evident by the dwindling numbers in attendance. Action needs to be taken to resolve these deteriorating issues.

Mr. Burman, you were quoted as saying; "We will build a program that wins conference championships, is a source of great pride to our alumni and generates enthusiasm across this great state," Burman said. "The future starts now." My question to you is, does it?

We appreciate the amount of strain and pressure that is involved in your position as Athletic Director. The ultimate responsibility of winning programs falls on you. Relationships and friendships are important but the top prioriety of any winning program has to be the success of it's programs and our football program is not successful. The University of Wyoming must come first!

Thank you for your time,

The concerned alumi and fans of the Wyoming Cowboys

Hey 7220...

I don't think it hurts to send it along, but I also think Burman already knows how the true fan feels...how the average CJC member fan feels...how the fans that attend the events feel...

I don't know if that group has any impact though.

Though I tend to agree with you McP, I am not sure I would just assume that. Everyone has a right to make their opinion known and if enough people voice there opinion then it will force Burman to at least address those concerns and defend his rationale one way or the other. If 7200 feel strongly enough to compose the letter, than perhaps that right there is the answer to the question (as sending a letter seems the easy part).

Wyoming athletics is at the lowest level that I have ever seen. I don't know if I would add it to the letter, but I'm almost to the point that unless the basketball team wins a minimum of 18 AND finishes in the top four in the conference, then the heat should be turned up quite a bit on Burman's chair as well.

At the very least, the BB team should show a respectable degree of progress, ala top 4. Women's BB is in good shape with our "other Joe", and I'll give Volleyball and Soccer some time. But, and this is the huge butt, upon completion of the football season Burman needs to make the biggest decision of his career.
