9/3 Opening game thread- NIU @ WYO

Cowboy athletics is coming back with a vengeance.

Coming soon, domination of the MWC at football, basketball, and the Big 12 at wrestling, all in the same season.
 
I guess this whole possession thing works at altitude, by the way. Their star defenders just stared in dejection as they made the wrong cuts trying to catch Allen on the last play. They had absolutely nothing left in the tank... I seriously think we could've powered it in just using Hill all the way too, but I'm glad it happened this way.
 
What an anxiety provoking game! "We got this we are going to win!".... "Oh crap we are going to lose" (repeat over and over) I'm sure glad to be on the winning side of one of these games!

I'm so used to losing (also from for some dumb reason becoming a Rockies fan) that I took for granted we'd lose when they got the ball back to try to tie the game.

I don't care if NIU has a down year (I hope they don't), this was a high quality win on national television that'll be talked about because of how late it went and for the 3OTs with a crazy ending. One hell of a way to start the season!

Glad to see other CFB fans loving the action, even though they had no horse in the race. People stayed up just because it was a nutty game.
 
Btw when was the last time you remember a kickoff return for a touchdown and a punt return for a touchdown in the same game and both wiped out by penalties

That was big win for Cowboy football. I was in the old West President's box (west side box seats) with all the folks from the Wyoming Ag Experiment Station (125 Anniversary). For those of you who think or read that all faculty hate athletics...don't believe it! This group (of mostly faculty and their spouses and kids) were all in and they're vocal...these folks love this university and they cheer for its teams, no matter the sport! Old-timers who've worked for UW since the 1940's (not exaggerating) up to the present were all rooting for them.

Awesome win for UW!

Props to the fans. Jeez, I was cold and frustrated in my living room. The crowd seemed into it all night.
 
Congrats, guys! I didn't stay up to watch it (need my beauty sleep) so can't really comment on it. Checked the score this morning. Disappointed, but can't say I'm that surprised. Hoping we can make adjustments so we win some games this year. Good luck on the rest of your season.
