All in all a good weekend.

BYU lost
Utah lost
Wyo won
USU won

Bad signs for Wyo, however, two of the leading rushers in the NATION are in the MWC. Fresno and UNR. Ouch.
 
Watched UNR put up over 60 points on Hawaii. Unless something drastic is changed, we are going to have a repeat of the USU game from last year. That said, why can't our o-line get a push like UNR's? WHY!?

Also, the Spazztecs lost gloriously to SJSU, again.

Idaho did to us what we need to do to teams like Nevada in order to stay within 30 points. Idaho killed us in time of possession until halfway through the 4th quarter. They just methodically drove it down.

Our O scores too dam fast.
 
in addition, usu will take this conf by storm. Their QB is legit. Pretty crappy that of the original MWC, the WAC will come in and take it over. Fresno, UNR and USU have it together.
 
Watching that game made me so damn mad. The true remaining power in the Mountain West plays like that. Their offense is as anemic as our defense. This year is SO wide open for someone new to jump to the top and make a run at that championship and the Pokes look no better than a small town high school team. Makes me sick. This really could have been our year. Our offense is dangerous. If we had a defense capable of stopping anyone with some consistency we'd win all our conference games. But we don't, so we won't, and BSU will probably sneak it out and we'll spend another season looking at Peterson's sh*t a*s eating grin....

I like Nevada over Boise State. They seem to have a more quality team overall.
 
I think with as bad as our D is, yet as potent as our Offense is, (offsense is just a shorter spelling "brett jesus smith") we CAN beat any of the remaining teams on our schedule. CAN beat, not WILL beat. I mean, the dude was a couple plays away from possibley taking down texas, if he isn't knocked out of that toledo game, we drive down AT LEAST into FG range. And then cal poly has no shot with smith playing against them. He did it by himself against idaho. And he can sling the ball to put up 30-45 on nevada, air force fresno, csu, NM, unlv, and sdsu. The only team he won't be able to put up that much is boise, but hey maybe we get lucky that game cuz their Offense in in the nfl this year.

We won't have many if any 38-14 wins, but I could see a lot of 42-40 type games.
We just gotto get some turnovers. Nevada will slay us un the ground, that's a fact, but if we get a couple picks or fumbles we might be able to put up more than them in a shootout.
 
Wyoming got carved up by Idaho! They also barely managed 34 points in regulation against the worst defense they'll see all year. Wyoming is looking at 5 wins at best, 3 realistically. Brett Smith can't throw bailout balls the rest of the season. Not sure he remains healthy all of the year either. If Idaho is getting to him.....yikes...

Hell the last 4 games of our schedule look very winnable. That means we just need to pick up 1 win against nevada/afa/boise/fresno

Colorado State is a win.

New Mexico and UNLV are both on the road, and UW always struggles there even when they are good. UNLV beat AFA last night in Vegas.

I think you missed the part where Wyoming barely beat IDAHO. That is by and far the worst FBS team UW will play all year, and they still carved up Wyoming like a thanksgiving turkey and managed to put serious pressure on Brett. Like I said, he can't just get drilled and throw deep against everyone. I think 3-9 or 4-8 is in order. Leaning towards 3-9.

No defense.
No running game.
No protection.
No way.

Football is a team game, and this one-man charade will wear on Brett just like it did ACS. The real question is, how long does Brett stay healthy this year?
 
Brett Smith stays healthy all year long. People are thinking now that he got hurt he has some little feeble body, he doesn't. He was being horsecollared then popped in the head. That's a brain injury, not a "body" injury. It's not like he is mike vick runnin around all day and taking shots to his ribs. Anybody can get that same brain injury that brett smith had.

He will be fine. And he will continue to pass the ball like a champ.
Yes I realized that idaho put up a shit ton of points on us, yet we still scored more. That's what matters. I don't care if the W's aren't pretty. I just want at least 6 W's.
If you don't think that there is ANY way we CAN beat AFA Fresno CSU NM unlv and SDSU then okay fine, go rant somewhere else.
But i do think that we can beat those teams, and will. I still see us grabbing 7 wins.
6-2 in conference play, finishin 3rd. The entire MWC is in a down year, it's not impossible by any means.

And that fresno game will be a shootout. like 63-60 type game i think. Both D's suck and both teams will have their QB's slinging by then, not that they aren't right now
 
Idaho before this game averaged 25 yards per game on the ground 2.2 ypc Idaho rushed for 203 yards against us, they haven't rushed for 200+ yards against a team since Oct last year. Fuck Bowling Green is a disaster this year and they held Idaho to 6 rushing yards.

If we win anymore games this year it will be CSU they look as bad as us people rushing up and down the field on them. New Mexico they can barely beat FCS teams but they drove the ball down those FCS teams throats for a tune for 600 ground yards that could easily be our achilles heel against them. UNLV but they beat AFA not sure how but I guarantee you this if we can't stop the run the rest of the season which it appears we can't.

CSU winnable everyone else has a back capable of putting up 200+ yards so my prediction is another 4-8 season with a Border War massacre to give us a good feeling going into the off season.

I'm not sure where those wins comes from but it comes from stopping someones run game. Injury or turnover infested games most likely.
 
If we massacure CSU in the border war it will give us momentum going into the final three games, not the offseason

Not really, the last 3 games may or may not have an impact from the boot but the boot is there all year and always maintains a large impact on " some players " maybe not all but some players it makes an impact on them seeing it constantly.

But I know what you mean.

First of all the way the Oline is protecting Smith. there is no way he can last all season. When you cant play defence you will lose at lot of games regardless of how good the O is, I mean Brett Smith. Lastly if I want to rant I will do it here and I will not go somewhere else and there is not a dam thing you can do about it tough guy.

Based on numbers and schedules, Wyoming isn't even on the same level as the rest of the MWC, with the possible exception of CSU. UNLV had one guy run for over 100 yards and another run for 3 touchdowns. We cannot stop the run, something fundamental to good defense. I can honestly see us not winning a single conference game this year.
