Holy shit Brett Smith!
498 pass yards, 7 TDs.
212 rush yards, 1 TD.

Brett officially passed Casey Bramlet in total yards today, and did it in a BIG way.
My god those stats are absolutely insane!

It was against Hawaii, but no one in Hawaii's history has put up those kinds of numbers on them.

Also, Brett now holds the MWC record for yards in a game by a QB. Possibly TDs as well, but don't qute me on that.

I don't care if it was against Hawaii or not. 710 yards for Brett.
That is absolutely insane.
How many Wyo single game records does he own now?

Quite a few, and that's saying something.

Also, he finally got over 3000 yards passing for a season. Something like 3200-3300 passing yards and over 500 rushing.

If Smith can stay hot and the Pokes pull off a shocker in Logan next weekend (unlikely, buy you never know), my preseason prediction of a Wyoming-Washington State New Mexico Bowl just might happen.

Please let it be Washington State not Oregon State.

No bowl talk. Not only is a loooong shot, but it jinxes the boys.

Beaver is not allowed to talk all week. If we can keep him quiet, we may have a chance. Lol

Lol.

If some people on ESPN don't give credit to Brett for todays game then fuck ESPN.

He should be given a helmet sticker or whatever Lou Holtz and Mark May do.

His stats are amazing.

You sure 710 total yards is the correct number? I see 3 different totals at 3 different sites.

ESPN: 498 (passing) + 212 (rushing) = 710 total yards
CBS: 498 (passing) + 142 (rushing) = 640 total yards
Yahoo: 521 (passing) + 144 (rushing) = 665 total yards

I was just going by ESPNs stats.

I guess it depends on if they count sack yards as pass yards, or rush yards or don't count them at all.
The play he fumbled might be counted differently as well.

Sacks count as yards rushed (or loss of yards on rush, but still). Same with fumbles. Passing yards can only be subtracted if the reciever is tackled behind the LOS.

ESPN has him with 142 rushing yards. I think that is the correct number.

Still a huge freaking game by him.

If he only had an O Line every game like that he would put up video game numbers. Oh wait he just did put up some video game numbers!

Gags tweeted that it's 640 total yards, which is also tops in NCAA FBS this season.

Sweet! Glad Brett had a huge game like that, he deserved it!

Why the hell did they have it at 212 earlier?

Was that the number he rushed for before being sacked or fumbling the ball backwards or something? That could be the reason. Who knows.

Probably. If we had a decent to good o-line, his stats, and the offense in total, would be off the charts.

Against an 0-11 team.

Not so much if we wish to remain just a little bit objective.

After watching both teams play today.....I think USU should be favored by 24+ points next week. Their defense looks absolutely terrifying.....and while Garretson isn't Keeton, Wyoming has given up 203 points in its last 4 games. Smith gives the team hope, but I'm expecting a beat down. Today's game was absolutely fantastic. One fans will remember.....but it was against a terrible Hawaii team.
