So we are going to have to pay a QB 500 thousand from the portal to get him to come to Laramie? What has college sports come to and can we actually find a QB in the portal willing and worth 500 thousand? If we win 4 games again and the QB sucks like the last 2 years he gets 500 thousand, what is our current QB make and do we still have to pay him if he stays and sits the bench?

NIL cannot come directly from the University. It comes from CJC. If everyone bitching about NIL would give an extra $100 they'd reach their NIL goals.
Revenue sharing. Absolutely agree with the last sentence. I did the $307 this year. Not much, but it's something.

I'm for nil but not revenue sharing when a major portion of revenue comes from taxpayers and students. That would be fraud, imo.

Supposedly Fowler-Nicolosi was offered $600k by Kansas State after his redshirt freshman campaign at CSU. He turned it down to stay at CSU and probably hurt his transfer stock with the abbreviated season he played this year. I bet he wishes he would have taken the money and left CSU now.
So if we want a proven QB that is even at the level of a Fowler-Nicolosi, which I never thought was particularly great, we are going to have to pony up at least $500k.

A college kid at Wyoming getting paid significantly more than most (if not all) folks on here who went to college, spent decades in a field to become an expert, etc….

If we want to win more games, we need better players. Fire all the coaches you want...if we don't have better players than the other guys, or at least as good, we're going to lose more often than we win. (And, by the way, nobody who can coach worth a damn is going to come here until we assure him we're going to buy the level of players he needs.)

The old bullshit is gone...and by the old bullshit I mean recruiting 17-year-olds who become indentured servants for 5 years while we give all the money to the adults who have the hallowed job of teaching kids how to run around with an oblong ball on grass and crash into one another. That's over.
If we don't want to do this...that's fine. We'll be able to hang, maybe, only with other teams who won't do it either. We just have to find a league of those teams, and it's sure not the one we're in.
This is pro sports, and if we want to have a team in this pro sport...well, you get the point.

It isn’t? Tell me what team (other than maybe Grand Canyon basketball) in the new MWC will be paying players a half million? I can tell you Air Force won’t be.
Maybe UNLV? Ultimately the goal in the new mwc will be to have the QB that makes a half a million (or more) the next year. Unfortunately it won't be for the same team.

Maybe but I think even that is doubtful. UNLV had a QB leave over what was said to be an alleged $100,000 owed (according to the QB) which UNLV denied ever owing. UNLV’s collective said it only agreed to pay him a total of $3000.
Seems to be magnitudes off what Wyoming is now going to pay a college kid…who is one injury away from becoming Ike receiving a bunch of money to watch games.
