Thoughts and comments are appreciated as always.

Let's hear what you guys are thinking

The runs up the middle, if the Pokes play like they have been, should be contained well. It's the jet/fly sweeps we have issues with. Defense is really going to need to step it up against the triple option.

Offense, we need to keep up with what we did against the sheep; no bland "run up the gut" 3 times for little to no gain and punt it for half the game. Keep it switched up.

Agreed. If we don't switch it up, it'll be a long game. Air Force's defense has been getting into the backfield a lot so far this season.

We need more of the power run play action and drag the fullback or tight end toward the sideline. Love that play for our offense.

I don't agree with Vigen's philosophy of ''you have to establish the run first''. The run's been established by previous games and our reputation. Come out with the tricky shit. Last week was definitely a step in the right direction.

Good points. And I agree, come out with the tricky shit, come out and use the passing game with some short passes / screens. That will help open up the running game. But if "we" are hard-headed and going to by-god run up the middle (I.E. EMU gameplan), we are in trouble and will have to battle from behind.

I have a feeling Howdy Doodie hasn't opened up the playbook all the way at this point...

This is gonna be a hard fought who wants it more game, I sure hope the coaches have our kids ready to play and not come out flat, that's all I ask!! My score and more thoughts will come tomorrow, Cmon Pokes!!!

On point number 2... the sheep didn't want to be there anymore in the 4th quarter. They were tired of being hit and punished. The Pokes were delivering big hit after big hit.

That is definitely true. The Cowboys wore them down and every time they would get the ball back Ethan Wood would make sure they had to go just about the entire length of the field.

Field position was big last week and it is going to be big this week

By the end of the CSU/WYO game, there was not a single csu defender that wanted to take Brian Hill on one-on-one.
