Last week alone, Allen only ran the ball 6 times (2 were sacks) and threw 19 times. That is 25 plays where you are putting the ball in your star player’s hands giving him an opportunity to make plays. That number needs to be higher, as soon as they give him more play making chances their 3rd down %, total yards, time of possession, and points will all improve.

There weren't that many more plays on offense than that. There was a total of 29 carries, so that means 23 of them weren't Josh's. On a balanced attack, it should be about 50/50 regardless. The fact that Allen only got 25 plays is 100% the fault of our offense not being able to sustain drives. If he had thrown the ball more and we had run the ball less, it's completely likely that the exact same overall results would've happened as he completed less than 50% of his passes.

Was going to also mention that there were more than 4 dropped passes. ESPN commentators pointed out that CJ dropped 5 of them, all on his own. Not all of Josh's incompletions were dropped passes, but I think his terrible passing percentage definitely had to do with that, along with the 2 Hail Mary type plays at the end of the first half.

The gowyo.com site states for the Texas State game: TV/Facebook. I don't do Facebook. But in the same schedule item it says "Watch game online". Is this referring to Facebook or is the game also going to be streamed from the gowyo.com website?

This is directly related to Vigen and his poor play calling on all 3 downs. He’s not putting the football team in a great position to be successful. A lot of it can be solved with getting josh outside the pocket or a couple designed runs. He ran 6 times. 2 were sacks 2 were sneaks. Play calling must improve

I think you're making a mistake in saying that "he ran 6 times," though, as Josh often has the option to run. If he rolls out (which he did significantly more times than those 6) and has the chance of a 5 yard gain running but he opts for the 20 yard pass down field to a wide open CJ who takes the ball off his chest plate, then there isn't a problem at all with the play call. Hell, there isn't a problem with Josh's decision to throw it either - he needs to be able to trust that the receiver will catch the ball 4 times out of 5. That's what happened on the TD in OT, too (except it wasn't CJ).

I'm not entirely happy with our play calls, but I also think we do have to establish our run game with the actual running backs rather than allowing Josh to get hit a few more times a game, especially when he just recovered from a shoulder injury.

Vigen doesn't catch well thrown balls. Hawaii game had a lot of great throws that were dropped. I do recall one pass that was at someone's feet but man, josh isnt getting much help.

Watching all 4 games, it's easy to see what we need to do to be effective. The long ball just isn't there. We sometimes have had it, but it's either overthrown, or on the money and dropped. Looking at our best offensive day (mind you it was against an FCS team), we couldn't run the ball for shit, but we got the ball in Conway's hands for quick outs and slants and let hi make plays. Now that we have finally found some semblance of a running game, we should do some more play action with Josh rolling out and finding someone down field or a tight end. If we truly want to be competitive, we have to get Allen out of the pocket, and be the dual threat he can be. NFL scouts have plenty of film on Allen. I think he gets a little bit of a free pass this year, as we all know he doesn't have anywhere near the supporting cast as last year, including a stout line. I think with our much improved D, we will be a tough game for all remaining opponents.

When you click on the "Watch game online" it takes you to Facebook. I just asked my wife what her password is and logged on. I had to promise not to post anything!
