I could have sworn that when I first looked it said 13 total commits, but now it says 12. Maybe I'm mistaken.

Not certain this is a new development, but OL Fabian Holler, Roesrath, Germany is now excluded from the Rivals list.

I hope they pan out, but its always a little deflating to see Wyoming constantly getting guys with little to no FBS offers. Speaks to the level of talent the overall team has.

Tapscott was a former verbal to Boston College

It looks like more than half of our commits have another FBS offers. If you compare that to a team like Hawaii, who only has one commit with another FBS offer, it doesn't look that bad.

 Weak. Hawaii has a commit going to the Under Armour All-American game.

I will admit though unless you are from Wyoming, Wyoming is a tough place to live. No warm climate, no beach, no clubs, no mall... overall a tough sell to recruits. The accademics are not extraordinary in comparison to other schools, the social aspect of the college is no better, the winning tradition has been sporadic at best.

I love UW but can understand why we aren't first in line for great recruits.

I agree for sure. We are last in line if you consider the things you just mentioned. Teenagers from other states don't appreciate the things we do about Wyoming yet.

Another new commit showed up this afternoon:

Jordan Stanton LB Los Angeles, CA Pierce C.C. 6'2" 240 12/9/12

The closest thing we have to a club is upstairs at the buck. And that is definitely where every athlete is going.

Is that supposed to be a joke?

Has to be. It's always hard to evaluate a recruiting class until at least 2 years after...but so far, IMO, this is turning out to be a fairly poor class (and cleary "howdy doody gate" is having its effects). I'm still holding out hope that we pull off some really great late additions.

We all know that recruiting websites will never rank fairly and are way biased. I think DC know a little more than us and he is filling needs. Depth on both lines and backer is the point of emphasis this season which we wont see stud recruits. It seems like we didn't get our highly ranked guys last year until late December - early January-ish.

Your theory that Wyoming will not win another recruiting battle has already failed. I guess you need to stick to the "Howdy doody gate is affecting recruiting" theory regardless.

IMO, it is way to early to tell. Also, go back and see how many recruiting battles we win out on normally...prior to this year. I think you'll see this year is really no different.

Go Pokes!!

I'm glad that we were able to snag Tanner Gentry. If he can translate his high school skills to D1 level football, I see him becoming another David Leonard.

I'm already excited for the spring game! LOL
I wonder how many incoming athletes will make it to campus at the beginning of semester 2?

Eddie Yarborough and brett Smith were the last real real recruiting coups. Wyoming has always found the hard nosed player and coached the hell out of them. Just don't see where the coaching the hell out of them is happening lately

That is good size for a LB size that we need I hope his speed matches it.
