(Last post) for the guy who said we're like Colorado: if you remember we don't throw snowballs, batteries, or point lasers in opposing teams eyes. Read the side of our stadium "through these gates pass the GREATEST fans in college football." Your team will be cheered on win or lose.

I didn't say you're like Colorado - I said many of you puff your chests up and try to rest on a very successful past, just like Colorado fans, big difference. Unlike if we had played a few of your division rivals (Michigan State, Wisconsin, etc.), I could actually see a scenario or two in which we win.

I've had plenty of good experiences with Nebraska fans, though I suppose I can actually say the same for CU fans as well.

I don't understand how it's classless to point out the truth? I know Wyoming has absolutely nothing to hang their laurels on currently when it comes to football, and I don't pretend that they do either. For this game, I know it's likely we'll lose, but to me that's okay as long as we get out of the game mostly healthy. These kids just need more games under their belts for now.

When was Wyo ever good? Besides never? It's funny seeing you classless jerks talk tough. I had better expectations from Wyo people. I was gonna wish a good game coming over here but I don't wanna waste time with jerks.
Listen friend, most of us here realize this is probably not going to be a win for Wyoming, as Nebraska will be playing this game like a play off game. With a guaranteed loss coming up next week against Oregon, and the fact that we have the coach you should have hired, starting at 1-2 would be the beginning of a death spiral for Nebraka's 2016 season. Even though you do not have the strongest schedule this season, Nebraska getting 6 wins and making a bowl game will be a chore. Losing on Saturday will all but secure a losing season for Nebraska. So no, we realize you need this win really bad and they'll be a ton of focus from your coaches, players and administration. If the game was in Laramie, it'd probably be a coin toss, even though we too, like you, are rebuilding. So no tough talk from me and I wish you a good game.

Boom...how that line work out for ya.
Is this a general question to anyone on the board or to someone in particular? For me, it worked out fine. Lately they have been keeping records based on wins and losses, not some pretend line made up by who knows? So whether a team losses by 1 point or 100 points it only counts as one loss, not one and a half losses or two losses, etc.

As an example, next week your team is playing home again, so you will probably not lose by more than a touchdown. But if you fall behind by a couple scores and your interception throwing machine of a quarterback starts throwing the ball up for grabs as our QB did today, it could get real ugly for Nebraska. However, the good news for you and all of the non-betting fans, is that you will be 2-1 after your next game, just as we will be. You will not be penalized if you don't cover, nor will you be rewarded if you do. After next week, Nebraska will be 2-1. With what will probably be a good chance for a win vs. Northwestern the next game all will be well in Huskerland! But at the end of the day, you are no closer to winning a conference Championship than Wyoming is. In fact, we'll probably do it before you.

Care to place a wager on this? You are apparently an exert on picking against the spread. Why not place some $ on it? All the talk on this board was that 24 was way, way too high. Ends up 35. :willybs:

I take it you wrote your response without actually reading my post. Or at minimum, not absorbing the contents. The spread is a joke to me, created to make the games more interesting for some folks. I feel they are interesting enough without placing a bet. So sorry to say I am not an expert on picking against the spread. But I still feel that Oregon will beat your team. You're back to playing against the big boys next week. You might want to keep your cash in your wallet.

Ha...what should I expect from a bunch of "never been there" college football fans. Talked a bunch of shit, then can't man up, and admit you got your asses handed to you.
52-17...deal with it.

Just plain sad that my uncle was the mayor of Cheyenne. A family embarrassment.

Me thinks you don't know the meaning of irony. "Manning up" isn't about going to another team's forum and acting like a douchebag. It's about saying "good game" and moving on.

Guess which one you fall under?

Yeah…after talking shit about the other team prior to the game, you get your ass kicked...you then expect fans of the dominant team to come over and say... "good game". Get real!

I would venture to guess that Fade-to-Black has never stepped foot in Nebraska's stadium...he probably found out you can't buy a ticket to a game using food stamps.

I feel there are two threads right now, the one we can all read and the one that you are responding to that exists only in your head. Believing your team will cover the spread is not really talking shit. And if it makes you sleep better, yes, Nebraska handed us our asses.

It seems everyone said that Wyo was going to lose the game. Yes, it was mentioned that your new coach is not as good as your old coach, most football people would agree with that. Your QB is average as is your team. I don't see any mean spirit in those posts, it's true. Nebraska was once great and might be again. Probably not, but maybe. You let a 2 win team, from a lower football conference, with a still-green QB, play you within one score into the 4th quarter, on your home field! I'm sorry to say, but Oregon, OSU, etc. will not be so kind as to fall apart in the last quarter. Let's face it, you'll probaly lose to Illinois in a couple weeks as well.

Good luck this season, your team played well, but let's be realistic. This is Nebraska 2016, not 1997. You're pretty average at your level.

As a Nebraska fan, Fade-to-Black is a douche. I really wish that we could find a way to purge dumbasses like him/her from our fan-base.

I was very impressed by the number of Cowboy's fans that made it to the game. The visitors sections put a visible scar on our sea of red, something you don't see very often. We had some wyo fans behind us who were very friendly and we enjoyed their company.

The scoreboard doesn't nearly show how close of game this was. Nebraska started out strong but failed to take Wyoming out of the game until the 4th quarter. Huge turnovers by the cowboys are the only reason for such a dominant win. Take those out of the equation, and I fear this game would have been a real nail-biter.

Good luck on the rest of your season.

Good luck to you guys too. And not surprised that you guys think Fade-to-Black is douche, as those kinds of people tend to be douches wherever they go.

Yep, they definitely exist in every fan base.

I went. We had a good time. Everyone was very friendly and wished us a good game and safe ride home. Probably 100 different people went out of their way to talk to us. Pretty cool to see there's still people like that. Don't let it go to your collective heads, though!

The statement in bold tells me everything I need to know about your knowledge of college football.
Yeah, "everyone agrees that Pelini is a better coach than Riley". That's why no team would touch Pelini after he was canned at Nebraska, and why he was exiled to Youngstown State, toiling away in complete obscurity. Zero P5 or even non-FCS offers.
Coach Riley has turned down head-coaching job at Alabama & USC, was an NFL coach, and is widely regarded in the college coaching community as one of the best head coaches out there. He chose to stay at Oregon State despite having a massive recruiting disadvantage against Oregon, because he loved the community and the people. When Nebraska came calling, he thought it was an excellent fit considering the programs history and the University/community.
This is why it's fun talking football with a fan base of the podunk University/program. Absolutely zero football IQ on your side...makes these conversations very entertaining if nothing else.
