There’s a few seniors with an extra year of eligibility. Will be interesting if they come back, declare for NFL or call it a career.

Keep in mind they recognized the following defensive players for senior day:
Jordan Bertagnole
Tyrecus Davis
Wyett Ekeler
Isaac White
Easton Gibbs
Shae Suiaunoa
DeVonne Harris

Just guessing but I bet we lose at least 3 of these guys too.

Wow I was there and don’t remember all those guys being recognized. They’re all listed as being juniors.

Listed as juniors for eligibility purposes because they all received a Covid year. I believe Bertagnole is already in grad school (some of the others may be as well).
 
man, if they chose to be recognized on senior day, that's not a great sign for them to return. Its well known that Gibbs is gone, but what about Harris? Our D not going to be great next year but we were all surprised last year with that young team.

I count 3 players with legitimate draft or free agent NFL potential leaving- Gibbs, Crum and Suiaunoa. Hawkins, Welsh and Godbout are borderline at best. Harris was not introduced but I worry about both him and Harsh in the portal.

Bertagnole will also get a look for sure. Asante will get probably be a rookie camp invite.
 
I don’t like the direction things have taken in the past few years. A team gets a bowl game and too many of the impact players pass on it. They’re concerned about injury prior to the draft or they enter the portal prior to the game.

Have we ever had a player under Bohl forego the bowl game for the draft? I don’t recall that happening. Swen ‘declared for the draft’ but he was effectively kicked off the team before that.

As far as the portal and players missing the bowl game, you can blame that on the portal timing. Any player that wants to transfer typically needs to enter the portal as soon as possible. Bohl treats those players as no longer part of the team. Bohl has only made an exception to one player who entered the portal to play in the Bowl game (TVW) because I’m pretty sure that TVW was encouraged to transfer by the coaching staff .
