Per Adam Schefter saying Josh Allen is a potential #1 draft pick, wow, I know I'll ruffle feathers , but how that goes is how our season will go, I don't see #1 overall, maybe the 1st QB in the draft to go, we shall see, it's kinda cool to be mentioned in all this, but we're UW, this just doesnt' happen, sure hope his WR's are ready to go!!!! Time will tell

Hopefully he lives up to that lofty hype. Historically, the "next year's #1 pick" after the draft has proven to be a snake-bitten title.
I would normally agree with you that Josh needs a great season to go #1, but Trubisky went #2 and Mahomes went #10 and frankly...neither of their teams blew it up last season.

Trubisky and Mahomes went high because they are prototypical quarterbacks, not because they're good. Both of those guys have a long way to go before they're ready for the NFL. Josh Allen has the same athleticism with better size and a bigger arm than either of those guys. A decent season this year and he'll be the first quarterback and likely #1 next year or the year after because guys with his potential don't come around often.
Allen could have been #1 or #2 this year if he had declared which would have been a mistake since he's so far away from being a good quarterback. He's all raw talent right now which is why staying in college and working on his game is a good idea. He won't get game experience at the next level unless he is thrown to the wolves too soon on a bad team like so many first round project quarterbacks are. Quarterbacks can play into their late 30's or even early 40's. Chasing the money is short-sighted. It would be in his best interest to stay through his senior year and increase his chances of a long career in the NFL instead of rushing there for the quick paycheck and risking a short career like so many early entry quarterbacks. He's not in some gimmicky spread offense that doesn't translate to the NFL. Bohl's system translates directly to the NFL which makes staying in school a great place to continue preparing for the NFL.

The criteria for going #1 in the draft vs winning the Heisman are completely different. I can see Josh going #1 (or for sure top 5), but think he has little to no chance of winning the Heisman, given that the Heisman is too much of a stats, popularity, and conference based trophy.

A Heisman candidate has to have the backing of the media, lots of positive publicity, and great game stats. Number 1 in the draft relies on NFL potential & game stats. Josh Allen does have a chance at the Heisman, but the P5 schools will be throwing a lot of money around to build up their candidates - we won't. Do you think espn would favor a heisman candidate from Wyoming or a P5 school? The espn media guy was the one that first came out with the Josh Allen #1 draft pick in 2018.

Kellen Moore had a 36-6 TD/Int ratio as a junior. That was good enough for FOURTH in the Heisman vote.
As a senior, he had a 74.3 Completion Percentage, 43-9 TD/Int ratio and 3,800 yards passing, and no serious contention at all for the Heisman that year because they lost 36-35 to TCU.
No way in hell does Allen come even close to the Heisman. He won't even be mentioned. That said, he doesn't need to be mentioned for the Heisman to get drafted high.

Adam Scheffer sure as hell wasn't promoting Josh Allen for Heisman when he predicted him to go in the 1st pick of the 2018 draft - probably just the opposite. The Heisman is little more than a popularity contest and anyone outside of a P5 school doesn't have much of a chance there (espn will do their best to make sure of that).
