This is a big weekend for the class of 2017. Hunter Thompson, Trevin Knell, Samuta Avea, and Parker Stewart all visit this weekend.

Remember we lose two guys in 2017: Morris Marshall and Alan Herndon. With attrition, we're probably looking at three scholarships to fill.
Big weekend. I hope all goes well. Can you imagine if we landed Parker Stewart and Hunter Thompson?? The fact that we are in the running for such highly-regarded recruits shows that the program is truly on the up and up.

Samuta Avea is a good looking athlete too. We'll see. Those guys would play four years in a fully renovated AA while studying and eating in a brand new High Altitude Performance Center. If we don't get them, it's not going to be because they committed to a school with nicer basketball facilities, because there aren't going to be many teams in the country with nicer facilities than ours.

Samuta Avea is a silky smooth looking athlete too. We'll see. Those guys would play four years in a fully renovated AA while studying and eating in a brand new High Altitude Performance Center. If we don't get them, it's not going to be because they committed to a school with nicer basketball facilities, because there aren't going to be many teams in the country with nicer facilities than ours.
I watched the tapes that you(?) posted on the MWC board - Samuta Avea's is the most impressive imo. I hope we get him, too!

Man any combination of these 4 pick Wyoming and were going to be really good going forward. Knell and Avea look crazy good and we've already discussed the potential for Stewart and Thompson...This could be another really special class

According to Verbal Commits, we've also offered Darius Banks in this class. Anyone know much about him?

EDIT: I found this, looks like another good Florida player. Haven't heard much about him.

Parker Stewart and Hunter Thompson would be HUGE.

The Wyo kid, and the kid with UW connections.

There could be some serious talent AND pride with those kids.

GET THEM BOTH!!!

Irshad Hunte is now available during the class of 2017. We'll have to keep our eye on him since he already tried to come here.

Remember when Jeremy Shyatt said that the first class you bring in is the guys you want the most? Well this weekend is the first 2017 group we're bringing in with Knell, Avea, Stewart, and Thompson. Avea, Knell, and Thompson are all teammates on the Utah AAU squad.

This class reminds me of the Austin Conway, Justin James, Andrew Moemeka, Jordan Naughton, and Eric Turner weekend that was so fruitfull a couple of years ago. Conway committed early and then attended the trip. We ended up getting a commit from all of them although Eric decided to chase pussy to Rhode Island.

Hopefully we'll get some combination of the guys coming in this weekend because we're looking at possibly at 3-4 man class in 2017.

Make mine some combination of Darius Banks, Hunter Thompson, Samuta Avea, Parker Stewart, Trevin Knell, and Iggy Hunte. That would be another pretty special recruiting class.

That's one hell of a recruiting class!!!

Here's a bunch of press that slipped passed me on Hunter Thompson. The author of the first article, Jeremiah Johnke, also provided two more articles. I'll list the ones not in this thread yet....

Hunter needs to talk to Marcus Bailey and find out what it's like to be a Wyoming native and stay in state. He's not going to get that kind of love anywhere else. Hell, he's just a junior in high school and he's already blowing up the newspapers and sports sites in Wyoming.

I have sources telling me Wyo coaching staff is traveling to Tempe, AZ on Tuesday to check out Corona del Sol's, Saben Lee. He is a junior who, trust me when I say this, is the real deal.

Since we just had our first big 2017 recruiting weekend, I thought it might be a good idea to show some of our recruits the perks of coming to Laramie.

1. Laramie is Dunktown. We didn't make that up....ESPN did, with the help of Larry Nance Jr., Derek Cooke Jr., Josh Adams, and Jason Mcmanamen. Carry on the tradition of making ESPN's top 10 by dunking on fools.

More Dunktown videos that are fun to watch...

There's a whole lot of dunking in Dunktown.

This video was put together by someone that got us confused with DunkCity and picked music that makes most people cringe. However, it's great to watch on mute with your own music playing. :D

This one is still my favorite from last season.
