2017 Cowboy Football Recruiting

If you want to watch something comical watch Logan Harris's highlight tape. He's a man amongst boys out there. Granted the competition's not the greatest, but I've never seen anything quite like it. I think he's going to be really good. He moves well .

This is the next big target (literally) and he's in Laramie tonight. Offered him a week and a half ago. Would be a nice get!

Holy crap. Not only is he huge, he's got soft hands, turns on a dime, and pretty good breakaway speed (acceleration obviously isn't quite there). Heck, he even seems like a solid blocker.

Big tight ends who can contribute in the passing game are rare, so the rise of interest in Naperville North senior Mitchell Lewis makes a lot of sense. A 6-foot-6 basketball player, he has the frame and tools to be a great college tight end and that is why he holds three scholarship offers, South Dakota, Missouri State and recently Wyoming, his first FBS offer.

"It was really nice to receive the offer from Wyoming and it seems like a great place," Lewis said. "I will be visiting this weekend on an official visit."

Another snippet on Lewis:

Recruitment: Lewis just landed his first scholarship offer from the Wyoming Cowboys, but it is unlikely to be his last. Other schools showing interest include Penn State, Buffalo and Illinois State, and he just made an unofficial visit to Iowa two weekends ago.

Evaluation: A converted basketball player, Lewis has demonstrated a football player’s aggressiveness in his breakout senior season. As a junior he played only a handful of snaps due to injury, but he has come on big this season. Lewis possesses ideal size for the tight end position, and most schools like him as a player who can stretch the field vertically while also providing a critical red zone target.

Penn State and Iowa are going to be tough to beat, but damn does it help to be winning right now as well as having a Tight End who's making a big difference and getting to be involved!

Keep your eye on Josh Dawson. Theo's brother. Just had a great Jr year at SVHS in Afton. Moved from Jackson.
