Pokes remain at #3:

Comment: It's unlikely Wyoming can stay with Boise State all season but a win over Nevada would put the Cowboys in a tie for first place with the Broncos in the Mountain West (pat yourself on the back if you had that coming into the year). Wyoming draws Boise State next week, so a win going into that game, which is in Laramie, would be big as the Cowboys vie for the most unlikely title in MW football history.

Why are opposing team beat writers such dickheads?

I don't know. Our beat writers don't do that. He's probably bitter they have one of the worst team in the MWC and we're on the rise.

I don't see it as being a dickhead. Did you have Wyoming predicted to win the MW? I didn't. It would be a major upset and surprise to everyone if we actually did it. Awesome but a surprise.

We were picked last in our division. When was last time a team picked last won? I'd say he's spot on. Did seem like a shot still. Just beat Nevada. We need that game so bad

Maybe I was being sensitive. But to me it appears he thinks the Pokes are getting lucky. At some point just realize the Pokes are improved and enough with the "slap your back", "It is unlikely Wyoming can stay with Boise", and to a lesser degree, "Most Unlikely Title in MWC history".

How about, I pick the Pokes 3rd because they are 4-2 coming off wins at CSU and at home vs AFA. And, they are currently 2-0 in conference play.

STORY: Wyoming tight end Jacob Hollister taking what's given to him in the passing game (trib.com)

"Anytime I can contribute, when I’m getting receptions or anything like that (it's important)," Hollister said. "Just because I feel like I can contribute in a big way when it comes to that. It was definitely nice to get some more catches the last couple games, but any way really I can contribute, whether it’s blocking or catching, it doesn’t really matter."

The Overland pipeline is fruitful and as athletic as any other place we're hitting. Is 2018 Cameron Murray next in line? Cameron has crazy wheels and he's almost 6'3".

STORY: Wyoming's defensive tackles holding their own this season (WyoSports.net)

“Our focus coming into the season was to stop the run,” UW defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Steve Stanard said. “If you run the ball (UW averages 197.5 yards per game) and stop the run, you give yourself a pretty good chance to win football games.”

Stanard said a big factor in the improvement, along with other aspects of his group’s better play so far this season, is most of the starters returned from last season. They are bigger, faster, stronger and, most importantly, more comfortable with Stanard’s 4-3 scheme.

Yeah he is. He's going to be a nightmare at defensive end by the time he's done.

I've always liked reading this feature of Gags asking 5 questions to our opponents (unless it's sheep week and Matt Stephens is involved). Pretty neat that other teams are catching on to this idea

That Matt Stephens is about the dumbest idiot in the MWC media. I love how he put two of CSU's pot smoking drop-out transfers on the pre-season all conference team last year and left Josh Adams off. He's also the idiot that tweeted out how CSU should try to hire Jeremy Shyatt when Larry Shyatt retired. Then, on top of all of his homeristic idiocy, he claims to be unbiased towards any team, when he's a gigantic CSU homer.

Agreed. Matt Stephens raises the bar pretty high when it comes to bad MWC press.
