2016 Commit: Austin Mueller

I have to admit I was not excited at all when I read the title because I knew we only had one scholly for the insanely talented 2016 class and I would have preferred literally any one of the others that we have offered, but after reading everyone's analysis and the tweets I am excited. Hopefully we can somehow get Basset or Peters on board, too.

Welcome, Austin! Go, Pokes!

I'm with you on that one.

And even if he doesn't end up as a star player, I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. It would just be one more young guy who needs to get a lot of minutes early. I'd rather spread out the classes, save the star recruit for the year after, when this current class is entering its junior season.

Good writeup on him: http://coloradohsbasketball.blogspot.com/2015/04/austin-mueller-of-thunderridge-picks-up.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Has anyone seen anything about Peters recently. I thought I had read he wanted to commit early but I am guessing he hasn't yet. Was just wondering if we lost out on him and thats why we went here.(don't get me wrong this looks like a great pickup) I really want Peters and wondered if anyone with a better grasp on recruiting knows more.

Seen this from the Colorado Miners,

@ColoradoMiners: S/O to @AustinMueller14. Killin it this spring and stacking those D1 offers. 6-7 with a grown man jumpshot out to 28 feet.

Obviously a protege of Downtown Freddy Brown. Liking what I'm reading. The staff have picked up two solid perimeter shooters by way of Colorado. Let's see how they develop. #TrustTheCoaches

No doubt. Just looking more at his athleticism and shooting form/ability on a short clip. The staff has evaluated him under tougher conditions, obviously.

The kids looks good to me. Not only does he have good elevation on his jump shop, he can drive and plays good D as well. Could be the next Marcus Bailey or Josh Davis if he grows another inch or two.

I seen where he visited Utah this past weekend, but have no idea where we stand with him.

"Everybody has been really excited for me," said Mueller, the 6-foot-6 ThunderRidge senior-to-be who verbally committed to play at Wyoming on Wednesday. "They know I'm going to a great program, a great place. I'm really excited."

"He's a great competitor," said ThunderRidge coach Joe Ortiz, who has been told by college assistants that they've seen shades of NBA marksman Kyle Korver in Mueller. "And he's a great shooter. He's fearless and he shoots it quick. They describe him as a stretch 4, a big who can stretch the floor, and he's athletic. He's versatile, he's tough and he's a leader. He just brings it all."
