Patience looks to pay off for Wyoming's Kelley (WyoSports.net)

“He’s a tough kid and, to me, he’ll find his way on the floor,” Edwards said of Kelley. “He’s a guy that takes instruction well. The way I want him and (Lieberman) to play, both have shown progress.

“He’s going to find his way somewhere on the floor. How many minutes? I don’t know, but it will be tough for me not to get him out there somehow.”

You have scrimmaged a few times, What has impressed you the most?

Edwards: We have moved the ball really well and have really shot the basketball at an effective rate. When playing with an unselfish mentality we can be a very competitive team. We have seen some progress on the defensive end of the floor. We have been battling fatigue in the scrimmages, but in an inter squad scrimmage you don’t have the subs like you would by having a whole team.

A Look at the Matchup
First-year head coach Allen Edwards welcomes back four starters and nine total letterwinners from last season’s team. The Cowboys return 63 percent of their s¬coring from last season. The Pokes also return 77 percent of their rebounding. Wyoming was one of the best teams in the Mountain West beyond the arc last season. The Pokes made a season-low five threes against Utah State on March 9, though. Wyoming still averaged 9.9 makes per game last season for first in the MW and 11th in the nation.
