How much did Alan Herndon improve?

Did anyone else catch the quote about Herndon, Dalton, and McManimal stretching the floor compared to the old big men? I wonder how much time the McManimal will see as the fourth guard. Hopefully he's bulked up a little to provide that mismatch.

This may not seem sports related, but Wyoming community colleges now have a stream lined system to get into UW. This should help. Will we see the University use Wyoming junior colleges to funnel guys to UW?

Well I know there have been quite a few juco players from Wyo Juco's to go on to play D1 ball.

Maybe the Juco's could turn into a Wyo minor league system of sorts.

Have Shyatt give a Juco coach a call when he is recruiting a player but thinks he needs a year or two of juco ball then the kid can go there and develop.

Then again, that sounds a little fishy and is probably not okay with the NCAA.

There's not anything shady going on. Our j.c. transfer policy wasn't favorable for students. You didn't credit for the courses offered in Wyoming community colleges at UW. Now you do. Now the local j.c. guys, that want to stay in Wyoming, can. That's not cheating.

I'm pretty sure he was referring to the hypothetical of shyatt working with jc coaches to have a sort of developmental system not being ncaa appropriate...

I was definitely referring to the potential Pokes D-league system.

Yeah, I wasn't suggesting that we cheat. I was just calling attention to the changes benefiting Wyoming. In state j.c. players will be more familiar with the Wyoming lifestyle and our basketball program. They'll be more likely to stay in Wyoming when their j.c. days are numbered.

Shy doesn't recruit j.c.'s unless he has too, but it's nice for the future of the Wyoming program anyway.
