2014 Spring Game?

Bohl has talked about many things as of late, I can't keep it all straight.....anyone hear about specifics to the spring game? How did he do that at NDSU? Did he split into two teams, offense vs. defense...glorified practice drills?

Would be nice if the event could become bigger than it is now....especially with all the excitement around the program.

I Googled it and I seems they do the O vs D thing. I did notice that they got over 4,000 at their spring game. Not exactly SEC or Big 10 attendance, but not too shabby.

Excitement around the program? From what I am hearing, there is anything but "excitement." I project that attendance is down drastically this next year....but then again, what do I know, after all, I was certainly wrong about the QB's leaving.

I was thinking very seriously about dropping my season tickets at the end of last season if DC wasn't fired, but I am excited now for the future and plan to renew my tickets. Everybody else I have talked to has tempered excitement for the football program now and plans to renew their tickets too. I doubt that the attendance drops. We'll see.

You're a damn child.
I at least said I was wrong about that situation and said sorry. That is all you have to hang on to. Let it go.

Hey, attention whore....I am pretty sure that there is not one mention of you. Stop begging for attention on here. I simply said that contrary to J-Rod's post...I am not seeing any excitement for this program or hire. Hell, the athletic department is wasting thousands of dollars to promote Bohl on billboards across the state. If there was "excitement around the program" then why is the athletic department working so hard to promote Bohl?

Why SHOULDN'T the athletic department promote Bohl? Considering football tends to pay the bills, yeah, no problem there.

If there is all this "buzz" and "excitement" for the program, then there is no need to have to "sell" the state on this guy. Guess we will see where season ticket sales go shortly. But, from my friends in central and southern Wyoming, and my friends in Colorado...now that the dust is settling from the firing, many are not as excited as they once were about this hire.

Ever since DC was justly fired, you've been ranting and raving at anyone and anything that supports his firing directly or indirectly. Sometimes has nothing to do with him at all.

Though I didn't see you whining about this when the billboards went up before this last season started.

Thats a ridiculous statement. Advertising/promotion is important, no matter how much "buzz" there was.

UW puts up billboards every year. If Brett hadn't left I wouldn't be surprised if he was on some of them too. Since he's gone and we have no "face" of the program in the form of a player the OBVIOUS next choice would be the head coach. Especially the brand new head coach we just hired. Who the hell else would they put on a billboard?

So, I take it this means you won't be trolling our opponents message boards and giving other Poke fans a bad name next year? I would say this coaching change is paying dividends already.

Have either of you heard anything about our future academic calendars possibly resulting in students not returning for our first FB game if it is scheduled at home? My nephew got a message from a friend of his that it appeared many students would probably miss the first FB game (if the first game is a home game) and several conference home BB games in January. Apparently something about classes starting later than usual in the fall and having an extra long Xmas break with classes starting later than normal in January. Anyone heard anything in this regard?

UW and LCCC (Albany County Campus) have pretty much the same schedule for when classes start, end, and vacations during the semester. And I haven't heard anything different.

good grief. First the University gets slammed for not doing much advertising and product promotion. Then they actually do some decent product promotion and people think it is a waste of money.

Personally I think a few billboards and some advertising is long overdue

Not everybody who goes to Wyoming football games follows them that well. Billboards are for the casual fan who might not even know Bohl exists but might still decide to go some games.

Bohl might be too busy to pose for some billboard pics. We can just use these instead:

Man, I still get to use the Mr. Clean reference even when supporting Bohl!

seriously, not trying to start anything just curious what your spring game got attendace wise.

I would say anywhere between 2-4K the last couple years, but I am not the best at estimating the # of people in the seats in a mostly empty stadium.
