We have been away for a while sometimes I have to concentrate on my business but here is the 2013 Cowboy football predictions. This article is usually posted much earlier but better late than never.

Agree/disagree let us know here or in the comments section on Poke Pride.

9-3 with a win @Boise? LOL.....The most optimistic prediction I've seen from all of the magazine previews is 7-5.

You predicted 8-4 last year, right? Can't remember.

Wyoming has a much much better chance of winning @SJSU and @USU than it does Fresno and @Boise.

That said, 6-6 to 8-4 is a reasonable expectation, obviously with the possibility of the wheels coming off the bus like it did in 2012.

8-4 I do believe was right last year for my predictions and I was off but the year before I was about dead on and scores were pretty close also, so this is my toss-up year. :D

LOL I always take the conservative route and say anything from 4-8 to 8-4 is likely....Bill Connolly always previews UW very well.....I agree with his stance that UW fields the same team every year. Once again the story will be turnover ratio, like it is every year. If the ball rolls UW's way, some good things will happen......if not, well, see 2012. Like I said, from a non-homer view......somewhere from 6-6 to 8-4 sounds about right to me. With an * though.....just in case Smith gets hurt again. Only games UW gets hammered in will be Nebraska and Boise. I think they could "upset" Fresno though.

You have to give me credit for being optimistic but I really do believe we can get 8 wins this season and I do believe that 9 is not out of the question. I am good both ways, if I am way off I can eat crow but if I am in the ballpark I can be the only one to have it right... :D

Like I said DC needs a signature win and a win on the "Smurf Turf" would be a big signature win.

CDC does need a signature win. That doesn't mean he will get it. Boise lost 19 seniors going into 2012 and still beat the crap out of UW in Laramie by 30+ points.....highly unlikely UW will even make a game of the @BSU contest, especially with what BSU has returning in 2013. Petersen will have the Broncos humming.

I too think Wyoming can win 8-9 games, but I could be wrong. Hell, ask fromolwyoming or any other lurker on the MWCBoard.....over there, any fan who thinks Wyoming will do any better than 5-7 gets laughed at and made fun of. The "objective" viewers don't have the most positive outlook for this years team. Why should they? Wyoming fans talked up the 2012 team like crazy and proved to be very wrong. Anything can happen of course, but I'm leaning towards 7-5 or 8-4 with an *. <<< Even that is considered overly-optimistic to outside fans.

My feeling for 2013 is this.......

As long as Wyoming beats the living crap outta Hawaii Nov. 23, I'm happy. I have a bunch of friends in the islands who are sadly big Rainbow Warrior fans and well....they need to be punished severely.

Wyoming should beat Hawaii quite easily.....even if Smith gets hurt.

GOOD! :D

My prediction: 7-5 (5-3 in MWC) although I could see 8-4 (6-2 in MWC play) happening as well.

Sure losses: @ Nebraska and @ Boise State.

Could go either way: @ AFA, @ Texas State (Wyoming almost always has a brain fart game), Fresno State, & @ Utah State.

Sure wins: Idaho, Northern Colorado, UNM, CSU aka Fort Fart State, @ SJSU, & Hawaii.

14-0. Rose Bowl champions. B-Smith get invited to NYC for Heisman ceremony, finishes 3rd. Final AP ranking is #3.
Start the season #7 next year, destroy Michigan State and Oregon on the road, go undefeated again, winning the MWC again, and Wyo makes it into the 4 team playoff, B-Smith wins the Heisman, Wyo blows out Alabama in the 1st round of the playoffs, then B-Smith has a Vince Young vs. USC type game against Ohio State in the National Championship.

You couldn't pull that off in NCAA 13.

Only because it doesn't have playoffs in it.

I'm pretty much on the same page....I'd rank them like this....

Heavy underdog/likely blowout: Nebraska, Boise State
Underdog, likely loss by comfortable margin: Fresno State, Utah State
Evenly matched, could go either way: Air Force, San Jose State
Likely win by comfortable margin: Texas State, New Mexico, Colorado State
Heavy favorite/likely blowout: Idaho, Northern Colorado, Hawaii

I like this, J-Rod.

There are 4 of those games that are impossible to predict because they will likely be won or lost due to turnovers and/or injuries, or be 1 possession toss ups. So this method is definitely the most reliable.

Don't forget that "likely blowouts" in Wyoming's favor often tend to be 4th quarter nailbiters.

I like this categorization as well.. don't know if we can say we are evenly matched with SJState- new coach, hard to tell..but I think we are the underdog here.
and as much as it pains me to say so..I think we are only marginally better than evenly matched with the sheep and Texas State
I think its a 6-6 year but hope to be proven wrong though

My prediction is almost identical to Poke Pride, but I have us losing to Boise and beating SJSU instead. I do have us 9-3 and 6-2 in MWC probably good enough for San Diego. I could likely see anywhere from 5-7 up to 10-2 this season. There are a lot of toss up games this season like SJSU USU AFA and UNM. I do think we are going to finally have our breakthrough season with all of the talent that we have along with the D moving to a 3-4 mostly and CDC calling the plays those two changes make the difference for me.

Yank
I think you are a lot closer to actual best case. We just wont beat Nebraska or Boise, except in our dreams. SJSU is at least possible if not probable. My biggest concern is the O-line. Look at our roster. They are all JC kids-that may be OK-but their backups are almost all Fr or R-Fr. They weren't great last year, and I am sceptical this year. You dont need a great line to pass out the spread, but if we are to be multi-faceted-we need a better O line than we've seen in the DC era

I am confident about the Cowboy offense, but of course there is the possibility that we're all.....once again.....inflating the look of this team. Wyoming won 4 games in 2012. The largest margin of victory was 14, against CSU. Wyoming struggled to knock off Idaho for the love of God. Wyoming has the *potential* to do a lot of things.....including another miserable season. If Smith doesn't get the protection needed, make no mistake about it.....Wyoming could suck again.

I think this team wins 6-8 games in 2013, but I would not be surprised in the least to see this team go 4-8 again.
