Okay, enough with football.

Have at it.....how do you think the MWC standings end up this season? Feel free to be as realistic or homerish as you like......believe it or not, our predictions have no impact on the results. So no need to get bent out of shape....

Mine...

1.) UNLV
2.) San Diego State
3.) New Mexico
4.) Colorado State
T5.) Air Force
T5.) Boise State
T5.) Wyoming
8.) Fresno State
9.) Nevada

I think New Mexico makes a statement after last year and I honestly don't see us losing to the teams below us unless it's a road game.

1. New Mexico
2. UNLV
T3. WYO
T3. Sdsu
T5. Nevada
T5. CSU
T7. AFA
T8. Boise
9. Fresno

Yes that is a bit homerish, but I think realistic. We should have had SDSU in Laramie and San Diego last season, we get them this season, and tie in conference with them.
CSU will not be what they were last season and people are forgetting that Nevada is pretty frickin good.

6. Wyoming

8. Nevada
9. Air Force

The MWC should easily get four teams into the NCAA tournament this year. The top four teams are heads and shoulders above the rest of the league. The three traditional powerhouses still remain, but based upon what I've seen out of CSU so far, I think they have made the jump to an elite basketball team this year.

Boise State, Wyoming, and Fresno State are all interchangeable. They are all good enough to steal a game or two from the elite schools in the conference, but they will also drop a few games to each other and aren't above getting upset when they have an off night. I think those three teams play well enough to earn bids to post-season tournaments. How those teams perform against each other head-to-head will likely determine who gets a NIT bid and who gets invites to the "other tournaments".

Nevada and Air Force are the basement teams in this conference this year. Air Force looks improved over last year, but I'm not sold that they have improved enough to see many wins once the conference schedule rolls around.

Based on Potential combined with what I have seen so far:

1.UNLV
2.New Mexico
3.SDSU
3.CSU
5.Boise St.
5.AFA
7.Wyoming
8.Nevada
9.FSU

Until Boise can actually beat us, I hesitate to put them ahead of us (whooped them by no less than 10 points both times last year).

How is CSU an elite team this year? They struggled with montana and Denver. Yes they took it to washington in seattle but still only one good game, to make them elite? No way. We beat the shit out of them last year and we blew it to them in foco last season. CSU is not that good. They will be hurting without miles soon.

And nevada, they made it to the 3rd round of the nit last year and return their 2 top scorers. I don't see how they are a bottom dweller. They are hands down better than fresno state.
And boise is not interchangable with us... come one man...

This is based on what I have seen from the teams and the talent level. It will be tough to win any road games for all of the teams in the MWC this year so I would expect upsets at home from anyone over anybody in the league.

With a team loaded with Freshman, some of them 17 or 18 years old...they looked very good @Michigan State. Should have won that game. Boise nearly shocked SDSU twice last season (once in SD), UNM in Albuquerque, and UNLV in Boise......Aztecs needed a last second heave to knock them out of the MWC Tourney....

1.Wyoming

the other 8 teams drop out of the tournament before ever heading to vegas after realizing how remarkably outgamed they are

Yeah and that same team, after they played SDSU tough, got bitch slapped by us. Twice. By double digits.

And the first time, in Boise, we were up by over 20 then pulled our main guys and played shakir smith grabau and the scrubs.
(scrubs then, grabau is definitely not a scrub now) then boise "fought" back to make the score look closer than the game really was.

LOL I'm just saying, losing by 11 points twice with a young team is far from getting "bitch slapped".... considering UW's losses in graduation and the Broncos appearing improved with their young talent, don't be shocked if UW loses to BSU once. Things haven't gone to well for Poke fans when overlooking people.....

See my post J-Rod. We had blown out Boise St. then put in the back ups.
We bitch slapped them. Hard.
And I think the reason that we ended up being less competitive in the end of the season is because we had only 6 guys playing most of the year.

With added minutes of rest for these guys they should be fresh throughout the season this year.

I don't think you can ever count your wins in conference play. Each team can come out and own you! See wyo owning rams
