So...what do you all see happening next year? From a early and distant view? Here are our opponents

8-30 Ohio
9-14 @ Louisiana-Monroe
9-20 Bowling Green
11-8 @ Tennessee
--- Air Force
--- @BYU
--- Colorado State
--- @New Mexico
--- San Diego State
--- @TCU
--- @UNLV
--- Utah

Honestly, if we get rid of Cockhill, we'll win the MWC Championship and go 10-2. The Tennessee game is a loss, IMHO.

If we don't, Wyoming will be near dead last in the MWC.

Regardless it will be a tough season. We do lose some talent after this season. You are right though, a lot will be on whether Bill is back or not. the schedule is tough but manageable. I see an 8 win season. Granted there isn't another let down like this year.

8-30 Ohio W
9-14 @ Louisiana-Monroe W
9-20 Bowling Green W
11-8 @ Tennessee L
--- Air Force W
--- @BYU L
--- Colorado State W
--- @New Mexico L
--- San Diego State W
--- @TCU L
--- @UNLV W
--- Utah W

Also, I wonder if Ohio will try to pull out of their game with UW, kind of like how Syracuse did.

They won't. They don't have the money to do it plus they're not a BCS school.

Ohio would have a lot to lose by buying out a game now.. they'd never find someone to schedule, nor would Wyoming. Bad deal for both teams. Next year.. hard to tell. The non-conference schedule looks easy, except Tennessee, which could be a pummeling, the last thing we need before MWC season begins. Disappointing to not see Boise on the schedule.

the Pokes will be playing Boise a few more times in the future, not next year though. In 2009 the run through the SEC gets tougher. We travel to LSU.

Which is absurd.. we don't really need bodybag games.. we need team building games.. last I checked, carting each other off the field is not team building.

The LSU game got dropped so....so no trip to Death Valley for the Pokes.

BRING ON THE GRIZ!!!!

Then it won't look so out of place when I sport my UW sweatshirt and Griz baseball cap. :)

Wouldn't surprise me if we replace the LSU game in 2010 with a home game against Montana.

I want a home and home.. that way I don't have to drive all the way to Laramie. :) But I suppose I'd probably make the trip.. if I can talk Chris into joining, because he's all about drunk road trips. :)

A Wyoming @ Montana game will never happen.

Should, it'd be well attended! Actually, a game in Laramie would be a sell-out due to the number of fans from MT that would travel.. plus we have a strong alum base in Colorado (which makes for a jam-packed UM/Northern Colorado game). Montana fans are the best anywhere when it comes to traveling with the team. When they went to Sac. St. a few weeks ago there were more Griz fans than Hornet fans in the stadium.. so it'd be interesting.. and it'd be a blast!
