2005 Border War

The 2004 and 2005 Border War was held in Fort Collins ( 2 years consecutively). This hadn't happened in the history of the boot, and last occurred in 1965 and 1966. Why did this happen? I obviously hadn't been paying attention back then or I would have noticed this.

I could be wrong, someone correct me if they have the actual reason. From what I understood when it happened was because somehow the BYU & CSU games ended up in synch, meaning either both were home or both were away every year and the school wanted to have at least one those games at home every year since some folks in the western side of the state considered BYU their biggest rival.

Tcu was added in 2005. That meant 8 conference games instead of 7. I guess to keep us from having 5 home conference games, we had to play at csewe again.

That is what I remember

Actually, it was AFA & CSU that were being played to where both were either at home in the same or on the road the same year so....

Wyoming officials requested to get CSU and BYU on opposite years for home games. We had them both either at home or away and UW wanted to have one of them at home each year.

We have CSU and AFA both either at home or on the road NOW.
