#12 T Shirts for Boise State

UW is going to give out 5,000 t-shirts for the UW students to wear at the Boise State game, in honor of fallen Cowboy, Ruben Narcisse. The shirts will be gameday gold with a large “12” in brown on the front, and “Ruben Narcisse Always a Cowboy” on the back in brown.

I understand UW is looking for donors to help with the cost, don't know much about that, but it makes sense. Also...was wondering if anyone with Brown & Gold ties (if they are the vendor) knows if the T's will be sold at the B&G as well? If not, they should, and part of the proceeds should go to a Ruben Narcisse scholarship fund.

McP, I totally agree. I saw several people on Facebook commenting yesterday that they'd love to buy one. I don't see why this can't be done.

My daughter says that she heard that they were going to be selling the #12 jerseys at Tail Gate Park before the game. I hope they do, cuz I want a few.

I would hope that the proceeds (profits) would go toward Ruben's Memorial Fund:

Ruben Narcisse Memorial Fund
Cowboy Joe Club
University of Wyoming
Dept. 3414, 1000 E. University Ave.
Laramie, WY 82071

Anyone who has questions regarding the Ruben Narcisse Memorial Fund or wishes to make a donation by credit card may also call the Cowboy Joe Club at (307) 766-6242.

'The Stampede' on 'facebook' had the following posted this morning when I was looking for information:

The Stampede: These shirts will be available for purchase in Tailgate Park for alumni and Wyoming fans with the proceeds going to the Ruben Narcisse Memorial Fund.

They also have a graphic of the front and back of the shirt. It is Gameday Gold w/Brown letters/numbering.
It has a large '12' on the front and reads: "Ruben Narcisse, Always a Cowboy" and has Steamboat below that. Very nicely done IMHO

Ok...I am scrathing my head on this one...

I was told, that once the shirts are gone, there will not be anymore available.

I've gotta say, that would be quite a bone headed move on somebody's part! I hope it is not true.

Just talked to a buddy of mine on Oahu (Hawaii) and he's donating $100 to the memorial fund in my name.

Apparently they have a road there on the island of Oahu that's very similar to US 287.

My wife was late to class at least once a week because of serious car accidents on H-1 (or maybe it was H-2). It's not necessarily because the road is bad either, but rather because of how people are driving. She felt Hawaii drivers were far worse than even California drivers.

One day there was an industrial carpet roll (4 feet in diamater, about 15 feet wide) that fell off a truck in front of her. She had to swerve over two lanes to not plow into it going almost 60 miles an hour. Apparently people there don't feel the need to secure their cargo.

Ironically, when I was on Oahu a few years back, I saw two trucks drop stuff onto the highway in just the 5 days I was there. Guess it can't be a coincidence?

I actually agree with you that Hawaiian drivers suck. When I went there in 2005 for choir, it was horrible. People driving pver the curbs, changing lanes without turning signals and without bothering to see if anyone was in that lane, and that was just the first day.

Great place to visit, but I still prefer to living in Laramie.

For anyone who cares, I did some checking pf my own with Sigma Chi as to when they will be sold and reasons for them not being sold in a larger volume and here is the bottom line.

They will be sold from 3:30pm to 5:30 @ Tail Gate Park

The reason for the limited amounts is the funding is going to pay for his Funeral but because of NCAA regulations and rules any money raised over the cost of his Funeral can not be donated anywhere as of yet. So no point in selling a ton if the money can't be put to use.

Currently his family is settings up a Scholarship Memorial Fund the goal for UW is be to able to sell these shirts online with the proceeds going to the Scholarship fund but that has to be approved by the NCAA and if it does not get approval then they won't sell anymore then the ones at the game on Saturday.
