117th Edition of Border War

Here is another post on ewenation……..this is why I despise them. They get blown out and still think they should be in a better conference…..and I ask again why…….

“Overall, it sucks losing The Boot, but the guys were put in a bad situation that will be significantly better when Wyo comes to Fort Collins in September. Wyo fans will talk shit, and they should because tbh they really have nothing to look forward to. They are stuck in a crappy MWC, with a crap TV deal, with no aspirations or likelihood of achieving something great. Oh and they have to do all that in Laramie Wyoming. We have made decisions that that isn't good enough for CSU. Here is The Boot, Wyo. Don't get too used to it. You are a team that last week lost to the worst team in the MWC. We are dedicated to investing in taking it back and having that be the minimum expectation, not our Super Bowl”.
Comments like that make me wish that Burman would retire the boot. Now that it is no longer a conference game, and it doesn’t mean anything to them, let’s keep it. It’s a symbol of the last time we played as conference foes, and it’s always been an in conference trophy. Maybe we can create something different with it being a non conference game now. How about bronze the boot that’s up their ass today and away we go!

It's galling to hear this from our rival for sure...but why do we advocate having this same attitude? I have read countless comments .... and even penned a few that rhyme with this calling for Wyoming to invest heavily in our program.
I think some nice investments have been made to our facilities. Should we build a whole new stadium, like Canvas. Hell no!

But, that isn’t my concern, my issue is how they look at lowly Wyoming in Laramie after we just whipped their a$$! And have in recent years.

Yep!! But, what does Burman do, give up a home game to go crawl down to Foco like we owe them some relevance. We don’t.

The thing that stood out to me in this game was that we clearly had the better roster. Even down a few DTs we had better players. In the past, CSU had a great receiver, TE, or really good DE. Not this time. Give Sawvell and crew credit for bringing in some good players. (Please don't read this as me loving him as a coach and looking past all of the other problems.)

It was good seeing Jovon Bouknight on the side-line vs. the press box. Was JJ on the sideline? I like the player/coach interaction. I really wish that guy well. And I like UW reaching out to a former player who knows what Laramie is like (living-wise).

Just makes that loss to AF feel so much worse!

Spot on. Worst csewe roster I've seen in decades. Bad qb, bad OL, and invisible receivers. There's a reason they nearly lost ( a bad call gave them the game) to UNC. And their win over Fresno st. is starting to look very suspect. Fresno st. got their asses handed to them Saturday. I'm guessing they keep most of their roster simply because the portal will be a black hole leading directly to D3.
