Mountain West standings through Week 7

I’m still holding onto my preseason prediction of 5 wins. Nothing has happened to change my mind, so far.

Probably right. But a win Friday most likely puts them at 6. I think we’ll all know by the end of the first quarter whether or not we’ll have a chance against the zoomies. Maybe the black uniforms come through again and the Pokes shock us all!

Concerning the MWC vs pac-whatever, if you take away UTEP and NIU there is virtually zero difference between the two conferences according to S&P. AAC is virtually the same, too. So, F the pac for screwing everything up. Royally.

I've been noticing this about conferences for a long time. They absolutely get judged in the aggregate even though it is the tip top and the very bottom where the differences are. I suppose if you have a perrennial nationally relavant program in your conference ... everybody gets a bit of shine from it....on the other hand, if you have millstones like UTEP and NIU in your conference...everybody gets some stench rubbed off on them.
