It is. Never a big fan of las Cruces. Wife said it's better than watching Wyoming football. She's a lobo fan and cowgirl through and through.

We were planning on going to homecoming. She said Wyoming football sucks. So she said lets's go las cruces. She said she never seen a sorry ass team like the one she sees now. She was proud of the tough cowboy teams. The teams that won games

Which is what UW football has transitioned to at this point...and has now for several years. Basically, it is just a large cocktail party with the Richie Rich's kissing each others asses.

War Memorial, and UW football in general, is turning into Coors Field/The Rockies. Lmao.

Great atmosphere, everyone comes out to party, etc.

But the product on the field sucks and will continue to suck because the higher up don't care....butts in seats, everything's all good.

It's scary how similar the two situations are.

As the owner of a small service-industry-based business in Laramie that is blessed to do well when the Pokes are even marginally alright....but has seen some really, really tough times during very dark years (2015, for example, was absolutely awful)....it's nice to know some do hold this mentality a bit.

Don't get me wrong, fuck all this noise and UW itself isn't going to get a dime more from me until things change. But I know firsthand the real financial struggle when there is zero enthusiasm in town, no one comes back to visit for games, etc.

There are very few people in this town who are just loaded and have no financial worries in the world. Most of us....even actual business owners...often scrape by and do the best we can.

(I do know the argument can be made that no business should be reliant on something like the football program, but the reality is that a lot of businesses and services in Laramie would not exist at all for any of you/us if it weren't for the bump that comes from football season, Jubilee Days, and a couple other micro-seasonal things. It is what it is. When those things falter, hard times wash over Laradise. And frankly, I'm too damn old and have too much invested in this over the last 20 years to change careers anyway lmao)

Honestly, the schedule was such that being 4-0 should have been the deal at this point. Beating Hawaii takes the heat off, but if we are really playing for some reason, this should have been a 4-0 start! The crowd yesterday would have been 25,000.

So on Saturday vs NDSU we get blasted by 20 and looking at 2-3 and hovering near that 5 win total at best. AFA appears not that good ( so the NDSU win against them maybe not saying much) and Nevada maybe a bit better. Bad conference overall!

I may actually take a drive from Phoenix to UTEP to go see the Sun Bowl stadium? Maybe....

The UTEP game will have to be at nothing less than 4-5 for me to attend - mainly to see the Sun Bowl site in person. 3 or less wins zero chance of attending. 5-4 or better I will be there for sure.

Hell, it took mother nature's extra halftime against Northern Colorado to secure the win. Confidence was at an all time low. Now, it is still quite low, with expectations of a beatdown woodshed moment happening next Saturday.

I agree it wasn’t great for homecoming. I was surprised that it was over 20,000. But a game at the War is always more attractive when that stands look full on TV and when you’re there live. It’s all too familiar what that stadium sounds like when it’s empty, ala the Koening years. The sound system echoes, the players can hear every word from both sidelines as well as the fans and it is overall very depressing. As the season goes by, attendance will decline. How quickly will it happen remains to be seen. A woodshed beating this weekend and a bad loss at SJSU would kill home attendance for the rest of the season. That is unless there’s a reason for fans to come, like curiosity about a new coach.
