The vaccination refusal, bullshit "religious exemption" claim that everyone knew was bullshit, the failed lawsuit, multiple protocol violations during Covid, etc. all certainly doesn't help matters. I know this board is full of right wing MAGA diehards that'll bloviate to the ends of the earth about it, so I'm not going to harp on it too much.
But all that bullshit was a direct result of who he is as a person. It's not the only controversy he's found himself in and it's not the only time he's stirred up shit. Former staff, ADs, and players alike all have stories about how fucking weird the dude is and how hard he is to work with or maintain relationships with.
There's a reason that in spite of his "success" he couldn't land a single other head coaching job at any level after that. He's a liability. The Covid shit put it over the top, but it was only the icing on the cake.
The guy has zero respect for anyone but himself and isn't well-liked (and wasn't even before Covid). And a lot of shit about him came out during that lawsuit to boot.
Call me crazy, but I really don't want someone at the helm of an already-burning program and locker room who threatens to boot players off the team simply for putting together player advocacy groups and shit. Yea, there's more to your beloved Rolovich than meets the eye.
Does UW really need the distraction? The last time we hired a selfish, hothead coach who was known for stirring up shit and was a weirdo was DC...and it took Craig Bohl, an entire team of NFL talent, and a once in a lifetime generational QB two years to clean up the mess.
But sure, let's walk into another clown show because "oNe oF uS" and see what happens, lmfao.

Not sure why politics is playing a role in this...it shouldn't.
I haven't read or seen the same things you have on Rolo, and frankly, whomever I think should be at UW doesn't matter much, it isn't my decision. I just know that the current way of running athletics at Wyoming, for 20 years plus, has been pathetic. For Wyoming to bring in another OC, or another FCS coach, is simply giving up FURTHER at this point.

that's a whole lot of word salad to pretty much say you don'ts like that he didn't want the jab nor do you like his religious views. which is fine, but he's a good coach. you also said you weren't going to harp on it 'too much" then decided to keep going on and on about it lol

It's relevant because it's a distraction and it's an indicator of the type of person he is.
The dude knowingly and willingly skirted every protocol put in place by his school, his state, his conference, and his sport, ignored or threatened players and staff who brought up concerns or protested about it, argued with his AD over numerous things until the cows came home, tried to get a "religious exemption" that literally everyone around him knew was bullshit (he didn't/doesn't actually have a religious belief against vaccines), then forced the school and state to waste taxpayer money when he sued over it, lost in hilarious fashion after all sorts of shit about him came out in said lawsuit, and then tried to appeal.
The reason I mentioned politics in passing is that the only type of people to defend that kind of shit are the people who think vaccines are the devil and Fauci is a war criminal; i.e., half this board. They're thus willing to completely overlook all of that and ignore it when it's a direct reflection of him as a person and other problems he causes.
Again, there's a reason being an assistant at Cal was the only job both him and Harsin could find when frankly, even bigger dirtbags have landed HC jobs elsewhere. They're notoriously weird and difficult to work with and have had plenty of other controversies and battles. Like many other people and things, Covid brought out the worst of it and brought it to the forefront with some high profile stuff, but it was always there. It's just not worth it to any AD who has done their homework or knows the dudes.

As for his religious views, what religious views? That's my point...y'all rushing to defend a guy you know nothing about. The statement that his religious exemption was bullshit wasn't meaning that his religious views are bullshit. It's that his claim to a religious exemption itself was bullshit. That's part of the reason his shit got tossed (multiple times)...he doesn't actually have a valid religious belief against vaccines and everyone who actually knew him, knew it. He's just a weirdo conspiracy theorist.
But sure, again....let's hire a dude with shitty judgement that's known for fracturing locker rooms, threatening people who stick up for themselves, and putting staff departments and coaching units in turmoil when ours is already burning.
