Good start, but there needs to be a NIL cap in place, and some enforcement for the violaters.

means nothing in the grand scheme if we don't put a cap on what teams can spend. until we do the NCAA will look exactly like the MLB, and is this case wyoming is the pirates, who have no chance of survival

from a Wyoming fan perspective, it would be interesting to see the NIL budgets for the MWC and Pac12 and Big Sky even. I still don't have much sympathy for Burman and his team, they completely failed to generate enthusiasm and support from the private industry which was happening pre-NIL, the overall trajectory of the program resulted in fewer NIL dollars. Just look at NDSU, i'm fairly certain their NIL dollars are already ahead of UW's.

Even if the bill passes it will be years before the dust settles. There will be legal challenges to the statute and any rules implemented to enforce it.

Had Burman not been so afraid of the portal (the lame excuse the roster would empty) and seriously pursued an improvement (such as UNM has) then the enthusiasm level would be significantly higher than it is now.

Losing sucks. The Wyoming program is fortunate there are not too many distractions to pull the 20,000 fans away on a nice Saturday but continual losing will.
