There better be some heads rolling

I had heard from a fairly good source that if we had lost yesterday, Sawful would've been fired. Can anyone with better connections confirm? I highly doubt that we'd run back the Sawful show and can the guy two games in - and it's not Burman's way. Candidly, there would be very little gained to fire JS now. The interesting play would be for the General to fire Burman and start a new search now. It would send a huge message that what he is rolling out is not acceptable.

I don't think Burman has any juice in this one.

What is interesting who do you make interim? Does Reeves say nope to the Bohl stuff and put Taylor in place? Do others from the staff get canned also?

Wyoming absolutely should fire Burman before any coaching change. Taylor would be my pick as interim simply because he has not been here as long as most of the rest of the assistants.

Not sure what is in his contract provisions. He probably has a $10M payout if he is let go prior to his June 2027 date. Remember that extension was done in total secret. Reeves could tell him to sit at home since the money is already spent on Burman.

OR Reeves fires the coach to send a message to the Athletic Department as a whole putting them on notice

I'd rather Sawvel just be successful because any buyouts affect other sports, specifically non-revenue, that could use the buyout money in their programs

I had not heard that in my "circles". However, I fully support firing Tom Burman yesterday. Eh, er, 10 years ago I mean.

I think signaling that the entire athletic department is not measuring up (meaning TB is canned) is far preferable to firing coaches as one offs. The General could send a loud message that cuts across all departments, sports and divisions (from admin to each sport to construction management to CJC, etc.) that what we have seen the past 5 years (and longer) is not acceptable. The only other idea is to get rid of both Burman and Welniak and say that the "good ol boys" no longer run the show both within and outside the organizations.

It’s Tom Burman who should have been (should be) fired
