Bear week…predictions

I’ll start.

Wyoming 31 UNC 17.

The Pokes don’t exactly look dominant but are obviously the stronger program when not making ill timed mistakes. The fans who have a critical eye will continue to see a Sawful coached team with numerous areas to improve.

Some fans may be fooled into thinking the offense is coming around and ready to start being a force against the porous Bear defense but need to step back and realize that this game and the CMU game are the last two chances to be prepared to play competitively for a conference record above the bottom feeder level.

Considering UNC hasn’t started well, I think the Pokes should actually win this one. 24-14. If the same mistakes occur next week, it’ll be closer. More like 17-14

27-13 Good Guys

I can see UNC taking a 10-3 lead and me wanting to jump off a cliff but then our running game takes over and we wear them down.

It better.

24-23 Wyoming wins on a last minute field goal in an otherwise mistake filled and personal foul filled game.

Depth chart exactly as week 1. Don’t want to mess with what isn’t working.

Northern Colorado is a horrifically bad FCS school. It’s going to be embarrassing how many unknowledgeable fans will be saying how great everything is after they beat a team that barely has a pulse.

The Bears might be better than a few other teams on the schedule. This is an epically bad schedule that will end with Wyoming having played its worst SOS since record keeping.

UNC 31 WYO 20.

Wyoming WRs continue to run wrong routes. The two picks to Richardson were his poor route running based on coverage. Shows you how weak the WR is if Richardson is the star WR and he cannot diagnose the coverage

We are 23 1/2 point favorites. So, we better win and it had better be easy. This is a horrific team we are playing.

I will definitely be putting money on UNC plus the points. Wyoming has not covered a 20+ point spread since week 3 of 2013 also against UNC. Since then we are 0-7 against the spread in these games including some straight up losses.

What's up with Deblanc not returning KO's. He was pretty much a no show the whole game.

I may be wrong on this, but it does not appear the WR's are running true "choice routes" where the receiver is reading the defensive coverage mid-route and then decides between multiple different patterns based on what they are seeing. This is pretty rare to see in the college game.

Instead, it looks like the WR's are being asked to make pre-snap reads and adjusting the route direction or depth accordingly. This is very common in modern college offenses. If our WR's can't do that consistently, then that is going to limit our passing attack even more.

When I saw the line, I thought the same thing. It looks like easy money to take the points, which scares me. If UNC scores 10 points, which is not out of the realm of possibility, that means we have to score 34. Seems daunting.

The Pokes will be Ok this weekend. UNC is not good at all, the Cowboy offense cranks up and SAwful will try to cool the fan base for the week. Pokes win 37-10. One of the sure wins for the season. If the Pokes lose watchout!!! Notgoing to happen though--even talent on this team to roll past the undermanned UNC team
