Impressive considering how much the other schools on this list spend on Wrestling compared to UW
Wrestling they can hide the NIL via their Regional Training Centers (RTC) so the true number may never be known. The numbers you found should be their budget and rev share. I don't think that Iowa number is right (too low) and Virginia Tech is probably top 3 now; Wyoming is in the ~$1.5M range.Curious to know, and I don't follow wrasslin' at all - so please forgive - but what are top schools spending on NIL for the sport? I did the googles, and there is a mixed bag of info! Facebook has (2025), and holy shit that is crazy:
Penn State $7.9m
OK State $5.0m
Iowa $4.0m
Ohio State $3.2m
Knebraska $3.1m
Rutgers $3.0m
Va Tech $3.0m
Michigan $3.0m
Iowa State $2.7m
Arizona State $2.7m
Wyoming?
Bob Nicolls is one of the big donors"One crazy donor can flip a program and Iowa's crazy donor is a Grocery Store baron." Who is the donor?
They had a top-10 around Coach Branch first year. Schools like Wyoming seem to be enjoying getting HS recruits since there is so much emphasis on the transfer portal from other schoolsNeed to make the next step and get some top tens
Austin Collins is a good example in this years class. Branch had a good interview with Keith Kelly yesterday and he addressed concerns when also recruiting in the transfer portal as well.same can be said about the Football programs & recruiting now, they have a better chance at grabbing a few better kids because there is so many transferring it leaves a lot on the table.
When Ethan Kyle left the lower classes certainly seemed to step back. 125 is the only question mark I really have; who will win the starting job Sefton or Harrison.I’m just really hoping they get better recruitment in the lower weight classes. They get that figured out and they could be a top ten team.
From what I witnessed last season, Sefton is not the answer. Like him because he’s a Wyoming guy but he was clearly outmatched in the duals I watched. Same could be said for many of the lighter weight class wrestlers. When Ethan Kyle left the lower classes certainly seemed to step back. 125 is the only question mark I really have; who will win the starting job Sefton or Harrison.
They have a really good lightweight in the 2027 Class out of Montana that should help as well
