OFFICIAL 2026 Wyoming football Schedule is out

I've booked refundable rooms for Sep 26 and Oct 17. The Alumni association likes how the end of September Homecomings games have turned out, so I'm sure they'll push for that.

I'm planning a roadie to SJSU. I want to make a trip to El Paso in the future. I've been there before, but not for a football game. Great food and a fun city.
El Paso is easy to get to and the weather will be pretty nice for a future late season game. Go Cowboys! I just renewed my season ticket.

Still wonder who did Wyoming piss off so much that we have 2 home games in late Nov.?
I still scratch my head with opening against CSU in Ft. Collins. Burman took a major gamble here and is risking pissing off a lot of people (and affecting the program). Gawd, they will rub it in Wyoming's face for a year! Why would any AD take that risk?

I wonder on some level if he thought he was being heroic by maintaining the rivalry but got lost in the details and what a loss really would mean to fans and the program? It's probably the worst possible 0-1 that I could think of...including FCS schools (for me, at least).

We better win.

I think this is the case. If you look back at all the press releases and such that came out at the time, this was the tone.
As we all concluded, this rescheduled move was a very, very poor one. In fact, I would question if Burman was being given (or received) a huge kick-back, to allow CSewe to open their Mora era against WYO to boost the entire program, staff, facility, and university. What a dumbass move.

1000%. Losing to them, to open the first season after they left us behind, would be devastating. And would hang over the entire season.

1000% he thought he was being heroic by keeping the rivalry streak alive. I, as I think most wanted to be able to continue, but what we got is the absolute worst circumstances possible.

Especially considering the Sheep would have had to open on the road against Indiana. Why would you bail them out of that ass kicking?!

When that scheduling change occurred, Burman said something about this just being the beginning of several changes to the football schedule in the next few years and that more information would come out soon.

I haven’t heard anything since.

What is super scary to me is that it’s a road game against a pee12 team which may be the toughest conference in the land with one of the most premier TV contracts from what I’ve read from expert pee12 sports analysts like John CandyO and Wilmer Flintstone.

The pee12 is going to be rolling in the revenue money while Wyoming is barely able to match revenue with the bottom of the FCS Big Sky conference. Even the Wyoming AD recently said something about joining the RMAC and competing with Chadron State. I could handle that as there are some nice 9 hole golf courses hidden away in western Nebraska with nice country hotels serving breakfast of coffee, bread and jelly with the option to use a toaster! It would make for an all inclusive resort like road trip.

Getting back to the sheep, they lost their two starting QB’s to Michigan and California but brought in two unused QB’s from Oklahoma State and UConn. That has me shaking in my boots big time because all we could do was get a lightly recruited FCS QB to compliment a homegrown quarterback and a guy with one leg.

To top it off the sheep loaded up with 5 transfers from UConn along with the UConn head coach that resurrected a program from the grave. So far he has loaded up his 2026 roster with mostly FBS transfers and should be ready made to run the pee12 table right out of the gate.

Meanwhile, Wyoming is stuck with a head coach that has put the program solidly one step into the grave while loading up primarily with FCS, D2, D3 and maybe even NAIA transfers. It’s hard to know because no one really covers sports over the vast wind swept tundra of Wyoming and it is hard to get information on a timely basis since Wyoming has yet to upgrade from rotary dial phones and suffers internet access now that AOL discontinued dial-up access.

I am so excited for the 2026 season regardless and am planning a trip to the UTEP road game so I can pretend the Pokes are playing in the Sun Bowl against a major FBS team from Texas where football reigns supreme!

🤣🏈🍺🤠
