Maury Brown is unfortunately gone. Mick and Susie McMurry are unfortunately gone. I’m unaware of any large donors stepping up to fill those funding voids. There's no magical pot of money to pay Sawvel's buyout. The University is under pretty intense scrutiny from the legislature. Despite the fact that we all want a change, this is not the time to be throwing money at buyouts.
The people in Wyoming who have those kind of assets are mostly in Jackson and could care less about UW.Maury Brown is unfortunately gone. Mick and Susie McMurry are unfortunately gone. I’m unaware of any large donors stepping up to fill those funding voids.
Will be interesting how long he stays at Eastern New Mexico. He is 70 and his last coaching job at Grambling he stepped down after 4 days on the job.Off topic but did anyone see the Art Briles is back in the game? Some d2 (i guess) school in NM.
I can’t name a single wealthy Jackson donor with significant ties to the University. The people in Wyoming who have those kind of assets are mostly in Jackson and could care less about UW.
Nor can I.I can’t name a single wealthy Jackson donor with significant ties to the University.
Scarlett's are probably the closest.I can’t name a single wealthy Jackson donor with significant ties to the University.

I commented on this in another forum, but only got a couple negative comments. Wyoming has at least 5 known billionaires - why not approach them? Worst they can say is no thanks. At least one billionaire moved to Wyoming for lower taxes and I'm sure all of them remain in Wyoming for that reason. The people in Wyoming who have those kind of assets are mostly in Jackson and could care less about UW.

Didn't MArs donate a skating rink to Sheridan? I think he may be inclined to donate. From information available:
Wyss is a strong liberal and major donor to environmental groups. Harvard alum who has donated over $100 million to Harvard. Odds of donating to Wyoming? Slim IMO.
Mars is a Yale grad and established an endowment there. Odds of donating to Wyoming? Not great IMO.
Hughes family is one of USC’s largest donors at over $400 million believe donated but does have a Wyoming Charitable Foundation and is believed to be a Wyoming caucus aligned Republican. Odds of donating to Wyoming? Maybe but probably more oriented toward charitable causes and not athletics.
Joe Ricketts is a Creighton alum and politically conservative. Has donated to Wyoming and other area schools for biodiversity research. Odds of donating to Wyoming? Good but probably not athletics oriented.
Forrest Mars did I believe. He passed in 2016 I think.Didn't MArs donate a skating rink to Sheridan? I think he may be inclined to donate.

Art Briles is 3 years older than Craig Bohl. So I can’t imagine he would get much if any future FBS interest.
With all due respect, but to me that's like asking a basketball player in post game interview about the missed free throw - and his response, "I didn't think I'd make it."From information available:

I didn’t say don’t try, I’m just trying to gauge the likelihood of success based on available information. The fact of the matter remains that the wealthy Jackson community largely has little to no donor interaction with the state’s university. With all due respect, but to me that's like asking a basketball player in post game interview about the missed free throw - and his response, "I didn't think I'd make it."
