UNM is happy with their results. Eck was signed to a 5 year $1.75 million per year contract.
I imagine he had a decent amount of interest from other teams. If he has another good year next year, I don't think that contract is going to be good enough to keep him in Albuquerque when a "power conference" team comes calling.
A nice problem to have at New Mexico right now. Wish UW were in the same boat.

Plus the buyout was increased if he is poached. It is much easier to make a coaching transition with a winning program and a pile of cash.
Maybe we should make a run at Lovo for AD.
He is currently making less than Burman.

At least somebody with his background working with major college programs as well as an NFL team with an emphasis on revenue generation and fund raising.
