You don't owe me an apology for anything. You have your say and call a spade a spade as you see it. That's great and doesn't offend me at all.

There's a few here that I have a little back and forth with. Blocking me is a great way to avoid it if not something you want to read. I wish others would have your intestinal fortitude rather than trying to "police" activity.

Freedom of speech means you get the freedom to shoot your mouth off and be stupid, offensive, and just plain wrong. I don't enjoy the overt insulting topspin that Ragtime and a few others tend to trade in. Those same people are capable of some pretty insightful analysis so I try to wade through the drek.

Are we just self-hating fans at our core? Does everybody (or most) that shows up for a game on Saturday fall into the dips%$t category described above?

Of course we are all free to insult and make bad faith characterizations all day long.....but that makes for a community that is not good to engage with. Somebody made the observation of apathy and stagnation on the message boards after games compared to years past...probably a lot to do with bad teams year after year but it's not helped by toxic communication patterns either.

Perhaps you should be Tzar and regulate the dialog you approve. All else is banned. I support that for the mentality of this board.

You obviously don't need my permission to be rude, misrepresent fans, insult, gas-light, and generally engage in bad-faith dialogue. As I pointed out...all of that is covered when it comes to free speech which is what I was responding to.

People are free to say whatever they want, whenever they want to wherever they want to. Interestingly, when sharing the same space with people, most people don't. People say that is because if you go to far over the line long enough...you'll get a knuckle sandwich. I suppose there is an enjoyment in popping off and spraying insults at the people from the safety of an internet forum...the same people you were probably cheering next to at a game hours earlier (particularly if the game sucked). There are definitely worse vices.

As I've said. When you get some control over your worst impulses, I find your "takes" interesting. Heck I've probably high-fived you at a game at some point. I have no desire to be in charge of what you or anybody else says.

I agree. You should be in control over how the takes are presented on this board. If rude or insufficient, you should have the latitude to erase those posts and ban those posters.

Hmm. I'm in agreement. You should be able to decide how things are presented. I agree with you. Would make the board a better place. Let oredigger determine what's accurate. Let poster formerly known as wyo1016 determine what's relevant.
