Week 1: ASU

The D will be good. I have no concern there. Svoboda has been challenged in a big game against Texas. The heat won’t be as big of a concern with the humidity they played in Austin. Pokes with a W. Maybe by 3.
 
Latest weather forecast is for it be in 90s at kick off and breezy. Depth has always been an issue for Wyoming so I hope that our players have great conditioning and can avoid injuries and dehydration.
 
I don't see a win, but we play well for the 1st big test, just hope it's more than run, run, pass, punt..

If we're a conference contender, we should be able to win this game without it coming down to a last possession. If we lose or win on a prayer, I think we'll probably see more of the same. We'll be in the mix but won't be able to win the game that matters.
 
What the hell. For at least the first week, I'm drinking the kool aid. We are +220 on the money line so I took it. I just listened to Ryan Thorburn's podcast with Kevin McKinney. The way they talked about this team, you'd think we were the 1985 Chicago Bears. Hopefully, we play competitively and have a chance to win in the 4th qtr.

If the game plays out that way, I'd take it. You take a win on the road no matter how ugly it may be.

But I'm hoping we come out with our hair on fire, a belief that this is our game to lose, and with the intent of dominating every damn snap of this game.
 
No one knows how good ASU is going to actually be, so it’s pretty unfair to say we must win this or we’re not going to be very good. And we’re minus our best player

I don't care how good they may or may not be. When Boise was nationally significant, they'd win a lot of their road non conference games. We're either contenders or pretenders. We win this game either way if we're contenders. Can we win the conference if we lose? Sure, but unlikely.
 
No Waylee or John Mike. Down our 2 best offensive players is not my favorite way to start the season.
 
Remember - we had an awful start last year against Texas Tech. But to start this game I’m seeing some concerning undisciplined and getting away from our bread and butter power run game that becomes concerning. Plays to the edge don’t make too much sense with our makeup.
 
Very disappointing energy level from the team. ASU is amped up and we look like a deer in the headlights. I'm sure we will start to settle in eventually, but it would be nice not to spot the other team 7 points in the first 1 minute of the game.
