War Memorial Stadium Update

As a Fort Collins resident, night games early in the season don't bother me. In fact, the csewe game was fine because 287 was completely dry. I would prefer more day games but I understand the TV issue. With all the people who hang out trying to watch from the endzones, I don't understand why some bleachers aren't installed in at least one endzone. I remember they did it for Texas. It might clear up some of the congestion around the endzone fences and the tickets would be easy to sell.
BRING BACK THE KNOTHOLE!

I understand why the lower bleachers don't go all the way up where the loge boxes will be and I guess that means that they can't take the seats on either side of the loges all the way up (as the view will be obstructed - like it is on the east side be the Wildcatter ). I don't understand why they didn't extend the loge boxes the full length of the lower section though. It looks rinky dink. Typical half-butted approach by UW.

I guess the greed of the Cowboy Joe Club is not to be underestimated. In my inbox this morning was an email advising that they have raised the price for RV parking to $300 and moved the location to the High Plains RV lot. So much for encouraging the fans to enjoy the game day experience near the stadium.

I got the same email. The price went up. However, I didn’t interpret it as any current RV spots being moved. I interpreted it as the lot formerly called the ‘Brown’ lot North of the stadium lot has now been renamed the ‘High Plains RV lot.’ Maybe I’m missing something.

Also - I support the name change. It was confusing when there used to be 2 different lots named ‘Brown’.

Odd. I've had RV parking in the Summit View lot for years now. Never heard any mention of it being moved.

I don’t believe it has. There are multiple lots for RVs. The ‘Brown RV’ lot is now called the ‘High Plains RV’ lot. This presumable change makes sense when considering the other ‘Brown’ lot that doesn’t have RVs.

Thanks for the clarification. It is still discouraging to open an email from the CBJ announcing yet another price increase. I do not own an RV but $300 for a parking permit seems a bit much.

It seems less crazy when you can park there Friday-Sunday and avoid paying hotels for out of town folks. Take a look at hotel prices for BYU game.

Wait until you hear about how UW is trying to extract funds in the NIL process - talk about greed.
Like money from 1wyo? I’m interested in the details. I don’t know how any university could connect themselves with a NIL collective for dollar sharing and be within NCAA rules though.

Big colleges were doing it before it was a thing, (called nil). The NCAA just looked away until it was a scandal and then they had to address it.

You should compare that to the terrif to park in the stadium lot...$300 is nothing.

I had stadium lot parking for years. Got be too expensive and found out if I was willing to walk a few blocks I could save a few bucks while getting a little exercise. A win /win in my book.

It is out of control at this point. I am sure, in my lifetime, I will see $5,000 parking in that lot.

The CBJ website shows prices of $2500 for stadium lot preferred (basically closer to the stadium) and $1500 for stadium lot parking. Even parking across the street at the Summit view lot will set you back $500

Correct. We are not far away from the 5k, to park for 6 home football games. And when the bandwagon fans leave for the "winter" or colder games or a struggling season, the lot sits half full. But that doesn't matter to UW, as they already have collected the funds. Like lower bowl seating at the AA.
