Good year to catch flyboys early?

They're replacing their whole line I think and only 5 returning starters or something like that. Maybe it's a good year to have them early (which I usually don't like).

Is it at home this year? They always play a weak non conference schedule and we play a hard one. Sometimes they are fresher than us

It is in Laramie this year. Air Force will be coming off a bye - not sure it matters much because they rarely alter their schemes. I guess it does give them an extra week to heal up any injuries they may have.

I think Air Force takes a step back this year.

I’ve been thinking they will take a step back for a few years now, but they haven’t

Air Force is actually benefitted by the NIL/portal world IMO. The vast majority of players going there are looking for a career in the Air Force and aren’t trying to capture NIL deals. This provides Air Force with more consistent rosters and familiarity with the system than the revolving door that most college teams have turned into. I don’t see Air Force ever really being a basement team.

I loathe the fact the MWC typically hoses us and has us play them early, or for our first conference game. AFA just isn't the same team after 8 games. Coming out of non-conference, they usually are not as beat up, as when they have played 4 or so additional conference teams. They only have 3 games and a bye week before coming to Laramie this year, none of which really look to be tough (Merrimack, SJSU, and Baylor).

I haven't followed AF's roster too closely over the years. Is this a fairly common amount of turnover for them? They typically are pretty solid at refilling the vacancies.
