If I'm Burman, I would consider asking Stitt to be OC/assistant HC should the new coach be willing. Let's be honest, we are all hoping for a proven coach that is looking to get back on track.
If that happens, I'm okay with the idea that they will be moving on when that coach is successful (yes I said when). Consideration should be given now for a "grooming" type of situation. From what I've read, Stitt has a pretty good offensive mind; combined with someone like Tedford, he might really flourish.
When the new coach is successful and moves on, pass the reigns to Stitt. Hire a new "groomee" and repeat.
Very simplistic and idealistic, I realize, but I do not think it is out of the realm of possibility. It would be a logical career path for Stitt as well.
