Can anyone closer to the situation tell me why we are not on a full out blitz to get Colson Coon from Sheridan? The dude had over 500 yards in one game by himself this year. I know it was in Wyoming High school football but the dude is the 2 time player of the year and we haven't offered him a scholarship or at least a PWO? https://www.thesheridanpress.com/sports ... 53546.html We have seen a ton of RB's leave in the portal and I feel this kid would stay and contribute. Maybe there is more to the story than I see. I just remember him killing Rock Springs in the Championship game last year. He was game speed fast. Not sure if his 40 time was fast but when he played, no one on the field could catch him.
Also, it looks like the Talich kid from Cody is getting a lot of interest as well according to twitter. Utah and Oregon state are in the mix. Hopefully we can get him to come to Laradise.

What's ND? Notre Dame? sorry. After reading that sheridan newspaper article, seems like Coon wants to go to Montana State with his brother.PokesNCider wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 9:30 amTalich isnt coming. Look for ND perhaps. That, and if you are the POY in your division in WY high school, you should automatically be offered.

Looks like Talich just signed with Notre Dame. Bummer we couldnt land that, but there was no way he picks Wyo over Notre Dame or Utah.
Congratulations to him, that is pretty incredible

A walk on. He'll be nothing special there and no one will care about him. He could have been something special here, though. A walk on...hmmm. Guess you really gotta love the education piece...he will be a practice dummy at ND, and will transfer. LOL.LanderPoke wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 10:39 amA walk on. Luke is better than Coon by a mile. We really don't need a RB especially since we have a transfer and freshman from Wisconsin. Since Bohl is big with getting in state recruits he must not be that good.
He is a Talich!... Hopefully he comes home after a couple of years and is ready to play for the pokes then!

I'll trust Bohl on Coon. It's hard to ignore 10,000,000 yards though.Wyomingisgreat1 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 11:34 am Luke is better than Coon by a mile. Talich could be a stud here... if he works hard, perhaps like Logan Wilson, but I guess he'd rather cosplay as Rudy

I was referring to his dad, Wyoming legend. There is no way I could happily put on a UTAH sweatshirt and joyfully flash utah gang signs. Puke. I don't care if it was a recruiting visit. This tells a lot about his family's attitude towards Wyoming.

1. You clearly don't know the Talich family if you're questioning their attitude towards Wyoming.LanderPoke wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 1:48 pmI was referring to his dad, Wyoming legend. That is a wild and pathetic response. His kid is being recruited to play in some legit big time programs, and he put a damn sweatshirt on to support him. Absolutely wild people get upset about something like that. Im rooting for him at Notre Dame, but that may show my attitude towards Wyoming as well right? wowLanderPoke wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 1:48 pmI was referring to his dad, Wyoming legend. All that Wyoming pride amounted to ... about ... well... nothing.WYO1016 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 2:53 pm1. You clearly don't know the Talich family if you're questioning their attitude towards Wyoming.LanderPoke wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 1:48 pm

So...what is it you are saying?..that in order to have "Wyoming Pride" you have to play for the home team? Your outspoken comments on outgoing transfers are painting more of a picture here. I though the notion of sports loyalty was dead and gone. The idea that players were ever loyal (at least since as far back as the '60s) was never correct. Read any famous sports autobiography and you will see what a business it was even before the modern era.LanderPoke wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 3:11 pmAll that Wyoming pride amounted to ... about ... well... nothing.
In order, from most to least loyal:
1. Fans
2. Franchise Owners
--- Everything below here is a gun for hire ---
3. Sports writers
4. College Athletic Directors
5. Professional Coaches
6. Professional Players
7. Tie between College coaches and players.
I will grant that there actually do exist a handful of hometown heroes that get to live the dream and play for the team they grew up cheering for but that is a decided minority.
