Navy must royally suck. I couldn't bear to watch it, but I may be desperate enough to watch BYU 6 weeks from now. Screw BYU

Why do we have to be part of this list. What a joke of a conference we belong to.

It should have been a school decision not a conference decision. If the entire conference votes yes, then the conference season can proceed. If a conference is split, all teams voting yes play a fall season against in conference and OOC teams that voted yes. Teams that vote no, can play in the spring against other in conference and OOC teams that voted no.
Split conferences simply cancel their season in response to COVID which is an act of god (gets out of contracts); don't prohibit other schools from acting independently after the season is cancelled.
I'd rather be playing this fall for a bowl game or just because more than I would the spring for MWC championship.

This right here, we are now aligned with the most liberal places in the US! California colleges, Oregon and Washington colleges, all the colleges in the northeast! Sweden is looking fairly wise these days
You're right! I never thought about it. The bowls and their cities are going to take a huge financial hit this year
Without doing complete research, aren't all those leagues competing in empty or nearly-empty venues?LanderPoke wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 2:34 pm Why do we have to be part of this list. What a joke of a conference we belong to.
For the college leagues, it will be interesting to see what happens as various schools work through delays in getting back to in-person classes

I think that the "conferences not making money" moniker is the key point. I really don't think that the CSU's, and UNLV's, and BSU's of the world are all that worried about COVID 19....I mean they will all say the right thing about not taking chances...but this came down to money. At the time of the vote (I don't know what else to call it), I could imagine a very scary financial future was staring them in the face....I believe that is why they decided as they did. I don't think it had anything to do with aligning with "liberal institutions".
