Re: watching the Loyola game
A win on the road is always a good thing. We didn't play very well tonight, but we came away with the W. I understand that Loyola Marymount is a pretty bad team, but keep in mind that they gave Notre Dame a pretty good game earlier this year. I'll take a win on the road no matter who the team is. I ...

Re: Boise St. Game
Tough loss. Oh well, we just need to keep moving forward. Every single road game we play this year will be just as tough or tougher. We'll get better.

Re: Big game tonight
I was reading a few of the newspaper articles on tonight's game. They make mention of BSU's post players ability to score, but their best player could actually be Anthony Thomas, a guard. The guy is rather short, 6'0 I think, but he is rather quick and can knock down the 3 ball if he has a chance. H...

Re: When does Thiam become eligible?
I've heard Dec. 13th as well. That means he should be available for the UCLA game. If he's as good as I think, we might give UCLA a good game. Man, I sure hope so.

Comparing like opponents in college basketball isn't as helpful as you might think. You have to realize that Northern Colorado shot 65% from 3 point range and 60% overall in their win over Texas State. Hell, they would have hung with any team in the nation shooting like that. Look, we beat two teams...

Pokes beat Denver
I came away pretty impressed with the win over DU this weekend. I actually was able to watch the second half of the game on the mtn and thought that we were playing much better than I thought we were by watching gametracker for the first half. DU runs the perfect offense and defense for their talent...

UW vs. Denver Tomorrow Afternoon
Denver is a pretty young team this year. They have been stuggling offensively in their first three games so I'm really hoping to see Denver held under 50 points by the Pokes. They are definitely one of the weaker teams in the Sun Belt this season. I believe they were picked 6th out of 7 teams in the...

Re: In case anyone cares Pokes win tonight...
Texas State has really began to live and die by the three this year. I didn't see the game, so I'm not sure whether it was bad defense leaving them open looks from behind the arc or if they just got hot. It's a good sign that we could overcome a team that shot nearly 50% from three. I was happy to s...

Re: Texas State - Wed. Night
I totally agree that our defense needs to improve. These guys are too athletic to not play better defense then what we have seen so far this season. Texas State is probably the best team we will have faced so far this season. They have a player by the name of Brandon Bush who is a very good player. ...

Pokes beat Johnson and Wales 105-64
I know it was Johnson and Wales, but I was impressed with the way the team played. It sounded like we were playing much more as a team and had a bit less one-on-one offense. It was nice to see Mikhail have a better game offensively. We need him to be a viable threat against smaller teams. He also do...

Pokes vs. Prairie View A&M
I'll be looking for the Pokes to start the game a bit better than they have the past two games. They won't be able to afford a slow start against better teams. I'm excited to see what Muojeke has for an encore. I have a feeling Ogirri could have a really big game. I know it's only one game into the ...

Re: Pokes win 84-58 in opener
Very impressive play out of the Pokes last night. Granted, they weren't up against the most talented team, but they played well and took care of business anyways. Muojeke looks like he will be another viable scoring option throughout the season. That gives us four capable offensive players (Ewing, O...

Re: Legitimate Head Coaching rumor...
I have mixed feelings about hiring Christensen as our next head coach. The guy obviously can run one hell of a spread offense, but it takes certain caliber players for a spread offesne to be successful. I'm not sure we have that type of talent on the roster right now. Could Christiensen recruit bett...

Exhibition Tonight
I hope all the Poke fans are enjoying the win over Tennessee today. I know I sure am. I'm also looking forward to the exhibition game tonight. It should give us all a better idea of what caliber of players we have this year. I'm not sure it will tell us much about how the TEAM will do just because i...

The only way we beat Tennessee is if we hold them under 7 points. I don't see it happening. 31-7 Vols

Re: The Missing Link
I saw on the other board that apparently the Pokes had a very good showing against Washington in this weekends scrimmage. I believe they said we won the scrimmage by roughly 10 points. They also said Ogirri went off for over 30 points. I also think this team is going to surprise a lot of people this...

Re: We can beat Tennessee!!
I don't see any way we beat Tennessee. Tennessee has a very good defense. Look for them to shut down the running game and force us to pass the ball. Inevitably, we will have a few turnovers. The most disappointing part of this football team is our defense. Lets not forget that SDSU was in the red zo...

Re: Sween out w/ Severe Concussion
Concussions can be very serious injuries. Yes, they are common in football, but sever concussions can cause chronic problems. Regardless of the how good Karsten is as a football player, I think it would be ridiculous not to take his injury seriously. Karsten has worked his ass off to try to make thi...

Andrew Meredith of Green River
It sounds like Glenn and staff are shying away from recruiting Meredith. He has visted Laramie, but it sure sounds like he didn't feel too welcomed by the coaching staff. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not for recruiting Wyoming high school athletes just because they are from Wyoming, but Meredi...

Upcoming Season
The more I look at the upcoming season, the more excited I get. Ogirri and Ewing will make for a very solid backcourt. I believe this will be an upgrade to the Ewing/Brad Jones backcourt of the past few years. Dermody is also a solid player who who can score if given the chance. The player I'm most ...
